i just installed the mpi trail turbo kit and ordered a set of aem gauges for afr and boost. my question is where to place the sensor for the boost gauge to get true boost/vacuum readings. my plan was to use the port factory installed in the intake plenum, but the boost controller/wastegate uses that port, and mpi specifically states not to tap into any of those blue hoses for gauges. there was one port that is capped on the 5 port T-fitting installed on the engine side of each of the throttle bodies, and going to the blow off valve. Can i use that extra port for the gauge? will that read true boost/vac to the gauge?

The 5 port block is what your want. You want to be reading the pressure after the throttle bodies.

They specifically put that there for a boost gauge. Use it, make sure you put on a one way pull tie on it to keep it there.

On a sidenote and building on what inerbigness said about zip ties. The ports on the tb's, not used by the bov plastic manifold have caps on them. I zip tied all of the lines installed to that plastic manifold including the caps on the tb's. The ports however don't have a lip on the top of them so I'm worried about the caps blowing off under boost even when zip tied on. Has this been a problem at all for anyone?

Its only a few lbs of boost.
They shouldn't blow off.
