Thanks for the updated part info. One would wonder why Yamaha would not make that known to people who have had the issue.
As far as keeping your machine outside I am not sure how to avoid this when on a trip away from home. Everyday we start out with temps of -20f or below. We warm up our machines to the point they shut themselves off. The day a snowmobile cannot run after spending the night outside is the day I switch brands.

every first year product has issues - most issues like this arent addressed properly, usually a dealer problem, and yamahas not going to recall and sent u notes and things, unless its a high risk safety issue - but ya - i get it - hard to find a good dealer with sleds for some reason. i drove around for 3 months changing rags out and adding oil every 10 rides or so.... at least the cheap rivots they use wont rust over on that side... with all the oil on the floor,, though i had a harley in the garage - now that would be a nightmare!
