1999 Yamaha vmax500 sx has no spark

Me and the wife went for a ride to and her sled just all of a sudden stopped tested it and no spark put a coil on it and still no spark don't know where to go next

Pickup coil.....just had it happen to the kids 95 vmax 600 two weeks ago, RMstator replacement as Yamaha part is discontinued.....just over an hour to change.....a bit of work to remove parts to gain access, cleaned up everything of rust and gunk while in there.....started first pull with new part......nice thing is the pick up coil is still separate from stator on the older vmax.....

make sure you clean the grounds while you are at it. odds are they need some attention.

troybowen73, you will have better results over on totallyamaha.net witch is the 2 stroke site. this site is more foucused on the 4 strokes.

had the same thing happen to my 99 SX and it was a rub through in the wiring harness under the dash cover. The VMAX chassis had issues with wiring rub through there and under the motor.
