So i was out riding the other night and hopped off my sled and rode my buddies for a bit. I soon realized that on my O5 rx-1 if you are not hard on the throttle it is unbelievably hard to steer(limiter strap??) and the second thing is it appears that i have a whole lot of drag in my track. It will barely coast down a hill with out being on the gas. Im fairly new to working on sleds and realy don't understand the suspension on them at all so any help or points in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

The reason for the "Drag" is that being a 4-stroke, It " Engine Brakes". You should notice it when your slowing down for a corner and you don't have to apply the brakes at a slower speed like on a 2-stroke. I don't know about the first question.

loosten the front limiter in the skid and it will feel lighter in the steering.

After you loosen the limiter straps, back the springs on the front skis off two or three turns as well. That will take a bit more weight off.

Re: Front skis
I suggest you try backing off the springs first. This is a trail side adjustment so you can do it while riding. Back off the springs a couple turns, then ride it to see if that makes it better. If this doesn't resolve the issue, then try the limiter strap back home in your garage.wallisan said:After you loosen the limiter straps, back the springs on the front skis off two or three turns as well. As far as the drag is concerned: IMO I suggest you loosen up your track so that you have about 1" of free sag between the bottom of the hyfax and the top of the track at the lowest point with no weight on the track. A cheap upgrade that I recommend is to install SLP pads in the closed windows. My 2 sleds roll alot better and the slides are lasting longer for sure. Check below.

Do you know how many of those pads you need? I never counted how many closed windows there are.

The other day I had worn out one side of the skag on my powder pros so while waiting for the new carbides to show up I put a stock ski on one side.Yes it was funny looking.I noticed right away the stock skis turn harder than the powder pros.Must be that the bottom of the powder pros have a pretty good curve to them, and the stockers have very little.

Shivesy, How do you run with "1" of free sag on your track? My Warrior's track is tight as a drum and still ratchets under hard acceleration and most high speed runs.

Your warrior has a problem with the suspension. Either worn bushings, cracked w-arm, limiter straps out too far, or transfer rod set too high.
