Wifey wants to do the 2 up thing. I have 2014 ltx I think. ( It's the black standard with a 137, heated seat..)
I want the Yamaha seat but information on part number and parts list appears to be conflicting. Some need a different bumper and some don't. Can someone send a link of exactly what I need?

I bought the rototeck one. http://www.rototeck.com/en/snowmobile/titan-touring-2-up-seat
It fits perfectly. The factory seat is really expensive, and you need the special bumper if you don't already have the one with square holes. By the time you get all that done, it's about a thousand dollars. The rototeck seat is $700 all in. And, it's made in Canada. I ordered from a Canadian supplier, so I paid in Canadian dollars. Ater everything it was only $520. Plus it comes with a cargo box and extra tail lights. I think it's better than the factory setup.

Thank you. I have been considering that model as well for all the same reasons you state.
Would you happen to have any side view photos of it?

Can you tell us where you ordered? Show us some pics? And describe installation ? I have heard the Sidewinder tunnel is 2" shorter than a Viper LTX - will that make a difference?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I have a Rotax on a RTX and it works great. Quick removal, minimal mounting hardware, Extra LED lights, storage. So comfortable I might let her drive hehe.

I went with the Yamaha 2-up seat (actually the Cat seat since you can get it through Yamaha) and it works great. It takes about 5 mins to put on. But being that it was designed for the sled, everything works well together. The other thing that is nice, is if you go with the passenger heated grips. It's plug/play with the stock wiring harness. Here are the part numbers:
rear bumper - 6639-637 .... note, this is the bumper for the 129" sled. You will need the one for a 137". I think the part number is 6639-911
2-up seat - 6639-281
passenger heated grips - 6639-722
My wife and older son have riding on it, and both loved it. I've even rode on it and let my wife drive for a while. Very comfy.

According to a discussion on another forum the Kimpex is lighter and Rototeck seating area is actually smaller. I was also told you can still use the rear bag with the Kimpex, so that has me leaning that way. The Rototek is cheaper on a canadian website but they didn't respond when I emailed asking if they ship to US. Kimpex doesn't look as bulky, and I like the rear bag I have. ZRX - have you found a good price on the Kimpex? Best I found looks like Amazon.

I ordered from http://www.2mmotorsports.com/. Shipping was fast and reasonable... like $70. No tax. There was one issue. The seat came without the backer brackets. I emailed rototeck and they quickly sent it to me. If this happens to you, wait for the parts. I went ahead, and then the holes weren't in perfect alignment. I was able to fix it, but it would have been easier if I waited.
Installation was easy. Drill 4 holes and mount the bracket. Then the seat snaps on the bracket. I spliced into the wires under the seat for the lights... and the factory harness is labeled as tail lights, so easy to find. I don't have any pics but can take some in a few days.
I didn't have a chance to compare, but I don't see an issue with the seat being too small. It seems fine to me, and is pretty comfortable. Waiting for the snow to fly so I can test it.

Also, it is a little bulky and you cannot use the larger rear bag with it. I don't see this as a problem because the cargo box is quite large, and it locks. They do sell a matching bag that goes underneath if you plan to leave it on most of the time. I plan to take it off when not being used, and removal is very fast and easy. Takes about one minute to take off and disconnect the wires for the lights and heated grips.

Thanks Sounder- I didn't realize that they sold that additional bag. With the exchange the rototek will be a bit cheaper if the shipping to MI is about the same as it was for you to MN. With that bag underneath I can more easily leave the seat on for my solo touring days- if my buddies give me a ribbing I'll remind them the seat is available to give them a ride when the 2 strokes break down

Ha. The other thing I notice is that they give me sh$t about the giant luggage... but then they want me to carry something, like that t-shirt they bought, into my bags. Payback. Ha!
