I'm still in a toss up.
yeah your rite... and only takes a nanosecond to do the damage lol
I don't think I have ever heard of a sled coming stock with studs installed... Not around here anyway.. I really don't know why I had such a problem. Ya know, it really boils down to personal preference in all honesty.... Just like one prefers Pooo, and another prefers Yama.... I now know, I'm one who prefers the bare track. Not only because of the troubles I had, but also my riding style requires bare track, I VERY seldom even use the brakes with this 4 banger.
He didn't say the sled came stock with studs he said someone put studs in the stock track before he bought it . But your right its an opinion how many studs to run as I run 192 with over 900 troublefree miles (knock on wood ) . Also when I'm going hard through the twisties I rely on my studs for acceleration and breaking . With out them I'm sure I would have gotten up close and personal with a tree by now . Along with opinion I guess it depends on rideing style if you need them . And I like the engine brakeing also but a lot of times its not enough
Ahhh your rite... Sorry about that, I read it wrong..
Yep... it's all in the way your like to ride.... When i go around the twisties, i like to be able to kick the arse end around a bit, shot of fuel, and kinda drift around the turns... I found with the studs, and when on groomed trails, any throttle at all and all the sled wanted to do was go straight ahead toward the rhubarb unless you were doing some super duper aerobatics and sitting on the hood and operating the handle bars from behind to get around the turn... LOL I know, way over done with the description... just adding a lil humor... But anyhow... just my personal opinion is all...
I ain't quite sitting on hood but I'm going to have to buy the gas cap dinner one of these times because it going to violate me soon LOL
hahahahah I've always heard that Yamaha owners seem to have some kind of personal connection between them and their sled. LOL I'm not quite feelin it yet I guess, although I'm officially hooked on that yummy sound, and power... Once they go Yamaha, they never go back!!

Haha, the up close and personal with tree part is why im thinking about studding it. I ride pretty hard and rarely use the breaks but when i need the breaks i dont want to just keep sliding and hit the tree sideways instead of head on. And also in hard packed snow or snow covered roads i miss the acceleration. I put my old track on a friend indy RXL 650 and on hard pack where that track was always awesome im playing catch up till about 85..i'd rather be out front from the begining.

i bought my warrior used, it had been studded, then removed before i bought it. there is some damage underneath in a couple of spots. it looks like you have to run your track pretty tight to keep studs from hitting things, besides the heat exchanger. i plan on doing without, since its a 1.25 ripsaw.

I run 96 up the middle on all three of my sleds, there for safety if nothing else.

How many miles on that setup? When I got the 03 it had 250 miles on it and already had studs..and i changed over to a ripsaw at 2700 miles. Deffinatly all for the safety and the added bonus of traction.

I have been running them for 3 years and about 2k miles since installing them on mine and my sons sleds. They were on my wifes sled when we got it 3 years ago with 4k miles on it. There were a few bent and dull ones on my wifes sled, replaced them when I recliped the entire track 2 seasons ago.RxThunder said:03RX1-ER-LE said:I run 96 up the middle on all three of my sleds, there for safety if nothing else.
