Just as a reference guys MNSNOWBEAST had the 12mm and the longer links all of last year he loved the setup and nothing broke So I'm gonna stick with plan A and see what I've got with the 12mm and links before I go spending more money. I'm saving for an 05 with turbo and direct drive

I *have* tried changing the limiter straps. Makes it feel like bulldozer if too much. Makes no significant difference if not enough.
If you plant the skis hard enough to keep it flat, you will make the machine feel like a VK540. This is supposed to be a top performance fast sled that feels LIGHT. THAT is what is my objective, and everyone else who is changing parts.
Do you really think that if tightening the limiter straps down a couple of threads was all it took, yamaha would have bothered changing parts on the '04?

Does 11mm bar & longer links help the problem 50% or more/less???

Well, when I hacksawed and extended just the links, it made a HUGE difference for trail handling. Still had a tendancy to sink a bit. Bar should help lots more. Don't know anything about the springs except for what I've heard (and I've heard that they're good enough to spend the $$ on).... MAXX recommended to me 130's with the links and 11 mm bar rather than the 140's that they recommend with short and 10 mm.
The biggest holdup for me was in fresh (not too deep) snow on a plane (like a lake). The stock skis would sink in while turning worse than anything I've ever experienced, and so the natural fix for that is meaty-#*$&@ skis.

L.b., when you cut those links did you tap them and add a threaded section or did you just weld in a section, I guees i can put my rescue sled away this winter as you didnt roll on lk of bays last winter and this winter is supposed to be lots of snow so the lake will likly be crap!

I just welded them. They're for sale BTW - comes with a 10 mm swaybar <G>. New bar has thicker ends and won't fit on the old links. Best offer.

Longer Links
Just a tid bit, Kevin from Port Yamaha Sugested to me that i should try the longer links first, If they work then forget the strait rate springs. He and some friends had good luck with just changing the links. He said it would be more than 50 % better. I tried Tighting up the front skid too last year, fought it in every corner, tired my #*$&@ out fast, Now i went to 22 mm On the straps to take some weight off the skis, HOpe this works better.
