Hello,
Sorry if this is not posted in the right area. So my question is we were out the other day did about 250k ride sled ran awesome as it has all season two days later went out to start the sled and just crank and crank and crank nothing until I sprayed quick start went out that night with no problems parked it after about a 100k went to go out for a ride the next morning and it just turns over and nothing else happens now.
I have spark, Cleaned carbs there spotless, has all kinds of cranking power, but while doing this turning it over every now and again it makes a little pop almost as if it was ready to fire up but still nothing. I did check to see if the plugs were wet and not so much, we noticed that the plugs did not have an equal sort of color on them.
(one was black like carbon, the other same not so dark and the other two still look almost new with a little bit of color tan ish) We then tried to see if the fuel pump is pumping when it cranks over there's a little dribble of fuel out of the top fuel pump and then a burst of fuel then not so much, the bottom one soon as i pull the hose off it has a stream of gas coming out of it.
Please help me with this problem...
Thanks Shawn.

New plugs, Cleaned the carbs, and not sure but is the fuel pump supposed to pulse when cranking? Mine does not it dribbles alittle then a burst of fuel on the top fuel pump and the bottom one when the hose removed the fuel just leaks out.

It should pump fuel not dribble...do you have a inline filter? Both should act the same.

No only the filter in the tank I will be adding the inline filter tomorrow after work I have another set of pumps to try to. And both pumps are for sure not acting the same at all.
So when the machine is being crank over it should pump fuel through the pumps equally like the older yamahas with clear lines when you pull the cord you can see the fuel being pumped?
Oh crap I forgot to mention the sled was put on its side the day before all this started to happen and it did stall out so I put it back on its skis started back up but rough then it kinda cleared itself up not sure if little dirt got through to the pumps?
Again thanks for your help.

Did you pull airbox and see if there is oil all over? You might be sucking oil up from being rolled.

Yes sir I did and no oil dry as a bone. It seems when the pup gives that one burst of fuel it almost wants to fire up but then it seems theres not enough fuel until the next burst of fuel. There is spark forsure to.

Sounds like you have it figured out... get the pumps changed and see if its steady fuel flow... it needs to be steady not dribble.

So I put the other set of pumps on and same thing and with the out hose going to the carbs on the top theres no fuel going through same as the one i took off? Now the bottom one If I blow in the in the air goes through and if you suck it stops so a one way valve the top you blow in nothing both ways you cannot blow in or suck, on the ones I took of and the ones I just put on. Are the top and bottom pump the exact same thing? Cause I was thinking of using the bottom from the ones i took off and putting it on the top of the replaced one i just put on. BUT I wanna be sure the pumps should blow through and nothing when you suck on both..
