2004 rx warrior

Dave, there is a how to in the tech section on carb cleaning. But basically remove, take apart, clean jets and re-assemble. For some reason, carb cleaning is necessary quite often on the Rx. I usually say something stupid like if your seat is ripped, if your headlights dont work, or if your just bored . . . clean the carbs.
thx ,let you how I make out

If you drop a tooth on the top gear it will give more torque but lower the top speed buy a bit (only about 5 MPH I think). I have not had mine on the GPS but a guy I ride with has his dropped 2 teeth on the top and he can still hit 108 on the GPS.

THx sled running pretty good now, I feel that's it has enough torque for me, I was hoping for more speed on my top end, anybody go up a gear? to increase speed? is it worth it$

my biggest problem now is the ride im 6ft tall and 225lbs,when on reasonably rough trails im bottoming out on rear suspension, what is the best thing to do buy a new shock or replace the whole skid? what do you recommend for front shocks to give me the BEST ride possible thx

It's usually just the boosted sleds that run higher gearing so if you don't want to loose top end just leave the gearing stock. Lots of RX owners swap out the skid for something different....I have a Polaris M10 in mine and its night and day difference compared to stock. Another choice is the mono skids from an Apex too. Yamaha would want as much for a shock as what you could buy a nice used skid for. The mono and M10 are the easist ones to swap out too.

not familiar with those skids or any to be honest ,what models and year are they used in?

Mono skid is from the Apex 2006-10 and was actually in the 2005 Rx1.
The Polaris M10 was used in a lot of their sleds from 2002-06 I believe.

sounds like your rear shock is in need of a rebuild/revalve. stock war shock is non servicable but a viper or rx1 shock will fit in there. on my 05 i put olins in the rear and once set it improved the ride 200% but can be spendy. i think i paid $1000.00 with tax for both rear shocks from yamaha accessory catouloge. now you would have to order them out of pioneer direct i think.

you'll never get a proaction skid to work well, not possible. I run a Fast Industries M10. Many run a Cat skid. Research a little and you'll figure it out. Check ebay for skids.
