2005 RS Rage not charging

2005 RS Rage does not seem to be charging the battery while riding. Goes dead after about 15-20 minutes. Is this common problem and what is the fix. Altenator? How much work to fix? Any help is appreciated.

check the wires going to the regulator its located under the tool box in the nose of the machine seen a couple of rx1 break wires in that area

Charging system

The regulator in the front of the machine was unplugged. Plugged back in and zip tied to secure from coming unplugged again. Runs great now.
