2005 RS Vector Darting

i just picked up a 2005 rs vector. I took it out the first time on the weekend, and wow...... this thing is Terrible! Serious darting. I have 96 studs in the track and single carbide i think 6" on stock skis. I have read a couple things; but i would like to know how people have corrected this issue..

snowtrackers is all I run on stock skis. I would highly recommend them. It will transform the handling of the sled in a positive way!

ok thanks. I went from a indy 500 which had no studs/carbides and was easy to ride to this vector which seems like hell.... I was burned out after 20miles and darting all over the place. Pretty disgusted at this sled at the moment. I always thought carbides and going dual possibly was for steering on ice not to be corrective issues for bad engineering?

Snow Trackers, just make sure you set the suspension as per their recomendations

Stud Boy Deuce bars work well on the stock skis. I also like to shim the rear of the ski rubbers 1/8" to 3/16" to get the tips up a little more.

Aggressive SnowTrackers is your answer. Best money that you will ever spend on your sled. No shimming or messing around, just one hole to drill in your ski to install, all very easy.

I've ran duece bars for 11 happy years. My two buddies also run them........MM.

skis need shimmed, and the front pressure needs to be reduced. This will make it better, but not as good as snowtrackers.

Sure, I still have my 05 and new from the dealer it had 144 studs in it (never again)....2nd track has no studs. Dual runners (never tried Snow Trackers yet) will solve your problems. 6" carbide length. Shim your skis as well. 1/8" - 3/16" thick shims will do the trick. If you can find one install a heavier sway bar too. Better, flatter cornering.

So you prefer no studs; why? Was it still squirrely without the studs as well?. I just put 1/4inch shim on this afternoon, I tried to upload pics but the site said they were to large of size. I am trying to figure this machine out; I just never had one handle so wild on a trail before.

You have mail. Studs made no difference when it came to a sled being "squirrely". That's all in the skis and runners.

Had the same issue on mine. Put the stud boy duece bars on like above............problem solved.

The main reasons for studs are BRAKING and traction. I ran 1 season without studs, not again. Rear end would be "squirrely" on hole shots and braking without studs. You will get more front end push with studs, Snowtrackers will solve this issue.
