2018 Sidewinder L-TX DX
I live in southern Ontario and was wondering the best place to rework my mono. Also if I was to buy another mono what should I get? I am around 245 fully suited up. I was riding this past week and put on 400 miles in two days. I bottomed out a dozen times, it would have been more but I drove accordingly to trail conditions. I would have liked to take the bumps faster.

By the way this is my first year with this sled and it is awesome. I can't believe the pull of this thing. I hope to add a Sidewinder in the future. 4 strokes rock!

I live in Barrie, there is a guy that has an ad on kijiji in the area that does good work. What have you done to your sled since you picked it up? I have an 06 RTX and love it! I just bought a 16 Viper and its handling is a 1000x's better but I miss the Apex power for sure! I kept the apex just for a fun ride and as a second sled in case of company.

I haven't done much yet. New ice ripper track with 144 stud boys, all new idlers, new sliders and new drive Shaft bearings. I was hoping someone in Hamilton did good work on rebuilding shocks (a little closer for me). Also need to upgrade the hand warmers, they hardly work at al even on full blast. Thanks for the suggestion If I can't find anything close I will look up your guy. Thanks DJ

Thanks J rock I will check them out.

Will second the vote for Shocktec, Frank is a straight up guy, knows how to set up a mono for your needs, been doing mine for several years.
You may need a heavier spring, but Frank will advise you accordingly. Ship the shock to him, he will have it back in a few days, will transform your sled.
Would also suggest you check "sit-in" after you get shock re-built/valved, lots of information on here how to do that, very important.
Cheers.

06 rtx. Went to gytr shocks, full soft, clickers 1/2 way hard on top, 1/4 hard on bottom (rebound), Hygear dual rate spring (readjusted after 1st rides), wrp seat, reinforced (gusseted) monoshock arms, rubber shims inside the transfer rod (to soften the clunking)....6 inch riser, ripsaw 2 track.....and it's a blast!!! I'm freaking OLD and on a really bad mogulled out road tuesay, passed 2 revs, procross, f cats, in our group, as it takes the bumps much better faster...they weren't happy
..2 revs were not new, but new to them. 20 something farm boys too...good riders. We all know ape x''s can't do what real sleds can!! Yes the they can! But the huge g outs, you will still get an occasional bottom, but the that's what you want. They are falling rate, Hygear has a dual nut that adjusts so it pulls on the big spring sooner, really tightening up the suspension before the bottom. Oh yeah, BIG improvement...slim Jims on my curve skis
..they do NOT dart at all and when hitting garbage, the sled stays super straight...no funny business when landing....so you can wick it up more! And can ride moderate bumps with one hand...super stable
Unlike some lighter sleds....lol. Toss in the motor, and it's a great package now. Stock, well, they need some work
..lol!

X2 for shocktec. Had my 06 rtx mono rebuilt and revalved by him. You should probably get the big boy spring installed on that too.
