I have a really nice 2006 Attak with 3k miles on it. I was loading it into my trailer and instead of hte track spinning I noticed the belt was slipping. So I quickly cut the power and found an alternate way to load it. Well I went and bought a new belt thinking i smoked the belt and I put a new belt on there. Well this time I unloaded the sled and drove it through the grass into the garage and again with the new belt the belt was slipping. So I raised up the back of the sled and checked the track tension and it was all in spec. So whats next? Does the clutch need cleaned? Any suggestions would be great? Also how do you take the clutch out if thats what I need to do?

Thanks in advance.

There are a few things to check.
Stuck secondary. Remove and clean it up.
Stuck or siezed weights or rollers in the primary. Remove with clutch tool and clean.
Partially siezed jackshaft or driveshaft bearing. inspect and replace as needed.
And my personal favorite. The parking brake is on.

belt

You can get a simple adjuster, to move the sheave in or out to adjust the belt height.

Use washers to center the secondary on the belt.

It is that kind of stuff that gets me in trouble. One time I hitch hiked because I accidentally hit the kill switch on my motorcycle.

The secondary sheaves are moved closer together or further apart to set the belt ride height by adding or removing small washers in the secondary.

However I doubt that this is the issue since a new belt slipped as well. My first thought was parking brake being on as I have done that myself.

Does the track spin by hand with the sled up on a stand? If not something in the driveline is the issue. If it spins by hand you have an issue with the clutches.

Yes the track spins freely. Maybe the clutch just needs clean. I think the clutch would be the easiest and 1st thing to check. Thats what I'm going to try.
