Anybody check out the Polaris website today? They posted the 06 sleds and one of them is a 4 stroke 750 turbo. Anyone have any information on the HP for this engine?

The website list the four stroke turbo at 590 lbs the Vector ER is listed at 544 and you get the mono shock this year and don't have to deal with the turbo. Not sure on pricing.

I love Yammy but don't forget that Polaris Turbo might only be 135 hp but with the turbo it may have a lot of Torque, say 105-110 lbs. The Cat 660 Turbo has 110 Hp but it's torque is quite similar to the Apex at the clutch of about 93 -94 lbs.. Things will get really interesting if Cat brings out the Rumoured 880 Turbo with 160 Hp and Probably in excess of 120 lb of torque at a rumoured 500 lbs dry in the M chasis. That would be quite a sled on paper and could smoke the Yammies(for how long is the question though!).

The torque for the Polaris 750 turbo is 100 ft-lb @ 5000 rpm. Pretty usable.
The weight is what really kills the FST though, 135 hp and 590 pounds just wont cut it anymore.
It should be a really nice trail sled though and Im sure a lot of the Poo faithfull will buy it.
Even the FS (non-turbo 4-stroke) is 560 pounds. That just goes to show you, all the other OEMs who said that twins were lighter were wrong. Twin, triple, 4-banger, its all the same. Id rathar have the high-rev power of a triple or 4-banger though. If you look on the chart Polaris gives for the FST, the powerband really starts to taper off at 7000 rpm.

Cat is not comming out with anything new. The turbo POL. Is slow according to my POL. dealer. He has tested it. Slower than the 900 and almost even with the 700 POL. He said the new 600 will more than hold its own in its class.

Actually Cat will have a monster 4-stroke - I have already spoke with people who have tested it.

Pols 135 HP at 580 lbs (Classic FST with the 128 track ) with M-10 is going to be right there with the Vector ER 120 HP and 544 lbs.

Power to weight ratio on both is .22HP per pound.

Rear suspension are equally top of the line with the slight edge to the Mono.

You have to like the adjustable bars on the Pol but it is still hard on the eyes.

Hayabusa powered???

The Busa motor is actually quite heavy when compared to the GSX-R 1000 motor and I doubt you will see it, in its current form, in a sled.

This motor was feature in a issue of snow tech a few years back with a cutaway view.I don.t think yamaha is losing sleep over it.A twin from polaris or arctic cat, turbo or not, cannot run head to head with yamaha.EXAMPLE-YAMAHA supplied engines to F1 teams in the 1990s,races in moto GP,and sells a self-flying chopper.POLARIS and ARCTIC CAT,ties to NASCAR,end of story.
