I got a crack in my clutch side heat exchanger. Do I have to buy a new one? or is there a way to fix it myself?

Typically somebody that is GOOD at welding aluminum can weld it up for you. Depends on where the crack is maybe.
Contact Travis at www.barnofparts.com and check on price and availability of a good used exchanger. Who knows....might be quicker and easier to go that route. Might get you back on the trail sooner?

Good question Steffman8.
Does anyone know if there is a special size drill bit to use. I always have a hard time drilling out rivets I am not sure if i am doing it wrong or if it is really that big of a pain.

If memory serves, the rivets that Yamaha uses have steel pins inside of them, making them harder to drill out. When drilling out rivets the bit needs to be very sharp. As to size, I go 1/64" under the body diameter of the rivet.
Punch out the steel pins with a small punch. Then drill the rivet heads off with a 3/16 bit with a sharp bit as 4strokeluvr111 mentioned.Good question Steffman8.

Sometime the rivets will spin if they are loose. I angle the drill slightly back and forth when this happens. Seems to work.
