Posting over here, since I did not get much response in the Apex specific forum. Have to pull the water pump to do new seals, o-rings and gaskets Had a pesky leak coming out of the weep hole (at very bottom of water pump) last winter that some pour in type leak stopper did not fix. Aside from the obvious of having to pull the engine to get at the water pump, does the oil pan have to come off to remove the water pump impeller shaft? If so, how is the end of the shaft attached? Thanks in advance.

I replaced the engine in my 06 apex 3 years ago and when I put the new (used) one that I bought in, I found out that the water pump was cracked. I had to pull the engine for a second time. I was able to swap the pump from my old engine without removing anything but the bolts that hold it on. I'm 99% sure that the shaft came out with the pump housing all as 1 piece.

Thanks. So it is just a matter of sliding the impeller shaft out with the pump assembly? For reassembly just keep turning the impeller shaft until the slot in end of shaft lines up and it goes back in place?
