Greasing up the apex today and noticed my inside idler wheel is totally shot, looks like it must have gotten hot and melted. What's the easiest way to replace that wheel? The outside ones looked ok. 2500 miles.
Thanks for any suggestions.

I found it was easiest to just pull the whole skid. If you do a search someone on here wrote a way to do it with the skid in but it seemed like almost as much of a PITA. Would be a good excuse to grease up the bearings in the other wheels while you have it out and check everything over. Also I replaced my wheels with the Yamaha accessory "spoke" ones much tougher.

ya buy the yammy accesory wheel.... they want something in the $80 range for the centre wheel, with mounting bracket... these wheels must have a 6005 bearing too... unless you machine for the extra width for a 6205. I cant seem to find a generic wheel without a 6205 or 6004 bearing... if this makes any sense...

Replaced all mine last year with the Yammy spoked ones, only 1500km's but no hint of any damage etc.
Pulling the skid or wheels and regreasing annually is a must imo.
Most of mine were good but I did find one that I am not sure would have made it through the season.
Pulled the circlip, popped the seal and injected a small amount of grease and it rolled again just like new.

I replaaced all of mine with 2002 MXZ wheels. They are just 5MM bigger in diameter. This helps alot wih Hifax wear

I really don't want to pull the skid. But it looks tight if u don't. I'm thinking you need to take the outside idler wheels out first, then work your way to the inside wheels.

It can be done 1 side at a time. Loosen rear axle, loosen the track adjuster, loosen the spring tension, take the lower w arm bolt out, take the bolt out of the center wheels, loosen the bolt for the transfer rods, pull rail out towards you enough to get the wheel out, loosen the allen screw on the wheel spacer and there you have it. about 15 or 20 minutes per side. I think that's everthing.
