2007 Phazer GT
Got out for the first time this year last weekend. At about 120 miles 07 phazer started acting up. It starts and idles fine, not throwing any codes. When you give it constant throttle pressure it feels like it is missing and the green D light will go out then come back on. Anyone have this happen to them or know what it could be? I haven't had time to dive in yet. Thanks in advance.

The light will go out for a second or two then run fine for 10 seconds then it will repeat.

I get the flashing D (not a steady flashing, just random on/off/on) but it hasn't affected driveability. Yours almost sounds like a TORS problem but you would get a yellow flashing light and code. Yours sounds like some sort of intermittent electrical short or break.

That's what it seems like. It doesn't lose power to the whole display, just the green light and the motor it seems like. Any ideas where to start? Thanks for the help

My brothers had a similar problem and I think it turned out to be something with the motor on the reverse gear box not moving quite far enough to hold the switch that tells the computer what gear you are in.

That would also make sense. I will hopefully get a chance to look in to this later in the week. Again, thanks for the responses.

Might as well check the grounds, especially the main one from the battery with a connector in it. My son's Phazer had similar issue except the display gave an er-01 on the screen. The ground connector was loose.

For what its worth, recently had issue with the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) on a 2007 motor. Specs call for it to read 4 to 6 K ohms. Mine read 7.5 k and was set to 1150 ohms back to the ECU which was too high. Mine also had the same symptoms of sputtering on constant throttle as well as, later on, no reverse operation. The TPS signal to ECU was too high therefore the ECU wouldn't let the reverse fully engage. Reason for sputter was dead spots in the pot so when you gave it throttle (especially down at low rpms) it would tell the ECU to fire and then suddenly stop and then suddenly go again at that rpm range. Changed the whole fuel injection intake from a 2007 to a 2008 motor as I had one on hand. Also the TPS's are different from those 2 years. Little bit of soldering the 3 wires from the TPS and ran it perfectly. You may just need a 2007 TPS, 2 screws to mount it to the fuel intake inlet and set it up. Good luck.

Thanks. For the input. I am thinking it's the reverse gear box. Not engaging into drive all the way and slipping like was stated in a FAQ link. I will keep this posted.

There is a ground connector bulletin to replace the ground block. Check with your dealer.

Trying to sell my ex's 07 phazer...it was running fine about a week ago. Tried to fire it today and it seems like there is a short. The fuel pump isn't boosting up and the lights on the gauge all flashing

The starter doesn't engage either

Like I said...was fine a week ago.

Could this be the ground connector as well??

Quick check you can open yellow ground block and run a wire from there (holding it) to the neg terminal on your battery. Sounds like a ground block issue to me. Hope that helps.

No yellow ground block

I ran jumper cable from battery to chassis and from ground to chassis still nothing

Will try from block to battery

The fuel pump relay has been changed to red relay last season

Still nothing

The "ground block" is located ahead of t battery on a harness correct?? The positive also goes to this block??
