Went for a ride the other day when all of this sudden my sled shut off on me. The oil light was on and it was leaking oil. Turns out my drain plug loosened off and all of the oil came spilling out. I talked to my dealer about this and he said the the 2007 Phazer models GT do no have a automatic shut off when the oils low and now i risk my motor blowing up. I just put new oil in it and it started up no problem everything seems to be working fine. Does anyone know if these 2007 Yamaha Phazer GT have a automatic shut off when the oils low?

According to this post, all of them had the low oil shut off. 2011+ was just changed a bit in how it works.

But, if you're spinning at 12k RPM and it's runs out of oil, it won't matter. There have been a couple incidents and the engine would self destruct. You were lucky!

From experience rolling mine (causing a good quantity of oil to run through the breather into the airbox) there are two systems, a low-oil warning system (light on dash) and a low-oil pressure shut-off.
When the sled was on its side and the oil intake on the bottom of the tank was uncovered the motor shut off. When it was righted and the oil tank was low it ran but with the warning light illuminated on the dash. I rode it home slowly.

My 09' dies within 10 seconds of loosing oil pressure even though it's not a listed feature. The 10'+ system flashes LO-OP on the gauge and reacts even quicker

Thankyou for all the feedback, just put new oil in it and went for a long ride without any problems!
