Hello everyone. Sorry for the late reply. So far things are really shaping up for a great season with good snow conditions coming early. Although I live in Huntsville, doing a trip around here is a question of lining up time off work and leave out my back door. The real question would be where do people want to travel to and what dates could suite everyone. There are lodges available everywhere in this area and if people just need a safe landing area for truck/trailers, I could arrange this since I can accommodate people in my yard, which is practically on the trail system.
Talking with my local riding partners, we are planning a trip starting in the Timmins area in February and doing a loop via Hearst-Hornepayne-Chapleau. If time permits we can even throw in a Longlac-Manitouwadge detour. Keeping in mind this is a very different area to ride in compared to the Huntsville area. This area is fast going with the trail system in usual good condition compared to the Huntsville/Muskoka area, which is usually slower going, and higher volumes of traffic, which can change trail conditions in a hurry. Huntsville is still a great area to ride in though!
For anyone interested, I plan on going up to Timmins area 1 day before our ride and do the loop in one day. This is a grueling endurance ride that will start at 5 am and only stop for fuel and quick food. This will be over 1000 kms in one day. The only thing that might hamper this one day trip is possible cold spells of –40 that often hit the area. If you haven’t done much riding for the season, own a 2-stroke or in not good physical shape, this might not be the trip for you. I’ve done this sort of riding before and its awesome! The next day I plan on doing the trip leisurely with everyone else.
So to sum this up, we have a trip planned for the later part of February starting in the Timmins area. Concrete dates will be out soon as arraignments for time off are still getting blended together. If anyone wants to plan a trip in the Huntsville area, throw some available dates and we’ll be available to join together.

1000kms in one day!! thats AWSOME! the most ive done ever was just over 500kms and we actually left from timmins (south porcupine) and went down to kirkland lake and all around, and we didnt actually start untill about 11am and we got in just to say after dark, but we both know that it is super easy to run up kms around there. either way when there is some concrete days i will see what my buddys wants to do or what he might have in mind, honk sorry i didnt respond untill now to be honest i kinda forgot about this thread there are soo many to read and chat about, anyways i will keep watching

There is an update in the 2stroke forum, check it out(Feb29th and Mar 1st): http://www.totallyamaha.net/forums/show ... hp?t=39292
I assume this is the place/location:
http://www.highcountrylodge.ca/
I'll be in the area the week before(16th-23rd) so I can give a general report on conditions at the end of that week. I won't be able to make it back there for that weekend so I hope everyone has a good time.
I would suggest you guys make this the 'regular' date and location, at least for a couple seasons and you have some regulars. or the place gets too small .

It seems nobody is interested in this. Due to lack of interest we will have to cancel the Ontario ride for this year.
Maybe next year we will try to get this together earlier in the season and give more notice.
Great riding to all and hope to see you on the trail.
Ride hard and play safe!!!

Update, sorry for the late reply. Been allot of hiccups trying to get this going. Been a few people dropping out due to money or work issues and looking more for the beginning of March for me to go. (Timmins north ride) My sled is apart waiting for exhaust doughnuts and hopefully be in within the few couple days. Going to check all dealers in Ontario if no success I’ve been down and out for over a week now. I was going to ride anyway, but found out I don’t have any doughnuts on 2 pipes and the others are half out. I need my sled in top notch shape for this trip. I'm thinking I might just get another new sled, but hate to do it now only to find out something better is coming for 09 which is still over 2 weeks away to find out. This really sucks if I can't get up and run in this prime time.
