Not to blow my own horn....But I predicted a 4 stroke twin with a doubled up 450 cc dirt bike motor in it back in 02 when the 4 stroke rumors were coming out.
The phazer isn't too far off from that....could it be comming????

Its possible to put the 120 in the Phazer. Will it happen, we will find out soon. They can still keep price points with engine size. If the demand is ther, they will build it. For example:

SX chasis 500 fan, 600 triple, 700 triple all same chasis, all different price points.

The New Phazer is just the beginning of a all new chasis for Yamaha. Build me a Phazer with a triple and I would buy one and so would many more. As far as a large twin, it could be possible. It would not be any lighter than a 120.

Well I'm confused as to what this post is about? Are we talking 120cc or 120hp. If were talking HP then the answer is no way am I going to put My kids on a sled that will hit tripple digits all day long. The current 80hp phazer is probably to much until the ages of maybe 11 to 13. JMO. Every new rider (kid or not) has to experience the heart sinking, eyes the size of golf balls, feeling of having a situation pop up in front of them that they were not expecting. Anyway what are we talking about in this post?

Depending on the age definition of youth I would buy a 30-50 hp Phazer style sled, for kids 12 and under.

Super, You are correct! 120 Horse is to much power for my 10 year old! 30 to 50hp would be perfect! She is on a Mini Rev now, and still can get into trouble! She keeps whinin for the new phazher, but i refuse to put a 7 thousand dollar machine under a 10 year old. Man when I was that age, I was glad to ride anything, how times have changed! She will be drivin an old Panther 440 fan, for her first couple years on the main trail, And she'll love it! Might have to paint it Blue though! Honk

I think Yamaha needs to bring out a new kiddie sled. Look at how highly sought-after and how much SnoScoots still hold their value even after all these years.
As for what Yamaha's plans for '08 are, I think you will see the Vector/Rage move to the DB 2 chassis and get EFI and I think you will see the Genesis 120 engine stuffed into the FX chassis.

Yes, I agree ! a 100Hp. Exciter in the Phazer chassis would fit perfectly in a line up of 80-100-120-150 Hp. Sleds and keep the price and weight below the big $ sleds !

something between the 3- 120s and the phazer would be a better way to go. why come out with another 120 to compete with 3 others. why not make a model that has no competition. just a guessing game now. probably the vector will see the dbII, apex/attak unchanged, phazer unchanged, maybe something in the 100-110hp range

I am hoping that they bring the exciter back in the 08 line up. One of the best sleds I ever owned.

Yes ! a Big Brother to the Phazer :0 :) :) ! ! !

08

Talked to the dealer today and he said that he was told by yami that they are making a engine with the 2-450 dirtbike engines like the phazer with the 2-250 enigines!!

Hope this helps with some gossip

08's

I heard the Vector and Nytro are gone as is the 120 HP triple. To be replaced with a turbo twin.

After talking to the dealer I am under the impression that there will be a 3-cylinder phazer, the vector chassis will be upgraded to the delta-box II rider forward with EFI, and the apex will remain the same.
