We’re the 08 tie rods longer than all the other years?
I acquired an 08 that had the front end damaged. I’m thinking it was patched together with a bunch of used stuff from whatever years they could find. In order to get things aligned, my tie rods are only grabbing 2-3 threads on each end. Not sure I’m comfortable with that!

they might have used mtx parts mixed in with rtx/xtx parts as the mtx is narrower than the others and would have correspondingly shorter tie rod's.

So, I wondered that…
I have an 09 and 2013 as well as a 2012 xtx and they all have the same length tie rods as this 08 I bought. But it seems the updated spindles and slightly narrower A arm set up of the newer models matches up better with the rod length.
By part # the 08’s are 8GL-23831-00, vs all other years and models being 8HK-23831-00.
I’m not familiar enough with the part codes, but my understanding was that the first 3 digit code referred more to a production run rather than an actual difference in the part??

08 tierods are longer than 09+
Sounds like you have 09+ rods on 08 spindles
