I have to make a quick decision here on a very good deal so rather than doing an extensive search I thought I would ask all of you quick?
I love my 2009 LTX GT but I can get a sweet deal on a like new 2011 SE with 2012 graphics. I know it is a no brainer regarding the EPS but I have no idea what the comparison is on the suspension? Logic tells me the SE should be amazing but I want to make sure before I drop some cash? I will say that when I went from my 07 Apex RTX to the LTX GT I was very happy, I hated the rear skid on the RTX big time!
All riding would be considered aggressive trail?

I think the only negitive or possible negitive in question is.....are you ok with a shorter track???? Also the SE has the fox shocks right? Those two items would be enough for me to keep the LTX. However going to an apex xtx...I would jump on that, JMO

Yes the SE has the Fox Floats front and rear, I know nothing about the Fox Floats in the rear? I did have the Fox Floats in the front on my RTX which was great in bumps but not ideal for me when cornering.
Has there been issues or negative reviews on the Fox Float suspension? Seriously I have not followed anything on the new sleds due to the fact that I LOVE my LTX GT, until the deal was offered yesterday.

I have never used them, but many have mentioned that you have to set them to either work in the big bumps(high air) or set for small bumps(low air). Allen Ulmer has a kit you can install for air adjustment from the drivers seat which should help this situation, but still, seems like a poor situation to me. Also have heard of a few low mile failures in the large mega-float. Don't get me wrong, some people love them. I have not had the best luck with fox, historically, anyway. The track length would be the biggest deterent to me. Others will chime in with opinions.

Thank you Sleddog! The track length is a a concern, I do like the 136" but I didn't hate the 121" so I'm thinking the 128" should be Ok?

The Fox Mega Float in the rear would be awesome coupled with Ulmer's air inflation system. I'd go for it and install that system, it'd make changing air volume in the rear Mega float shock a breeze. That's a great shock, it's just changing the air volume for varying riding conditions that'd be a bear. But the SE would be an awesome sled.

What does that kit cost and how long to install? Not liking the idea of having to upgrade a NEW sled, used to it but not liking it? I already upgraded things on the 09, I always hate starting over.

i test drove both sleds when they came out in 2011,the se rode much better than the xtx,the float shock is very good,i never thought it could ride that plush being a air shock,i would not hesitate on the 2011,

No contest in my opinion. That's why I moved from the Attak to Apex.

SE 128 & air shocks hmmmm........ xtx 144 tipped would jump on good deal at right price. Not sure I would be happy with 128 over my Attak either. Also I'm not a big fan of Fox either.

Mega float in the SE rides very stiff compared to the ohlins ( I have the same sled) I just bought a new non current 2011 XTX and put on 50 miles last weekend . I predict I wont be riding my 09 to much this winter. LOL
I absolutley love the power steering and the XTX weight transfers unbelievably.

I say do it. Set it up for trail riding & improve it next year. They are not that far off that you'll be disappointed. Plus you'll love all the other improvements...

Thank you all for the feedback! I'm still struggling as I did not like the Fox Floats in the front for cornering yet with the EPS I could get over it? I can let him know tomorrow so I have all day today to think it over.

I purchased a std. 2011 apex at the end of last season (got a good deal) and still managed to put 1800 miles on it and all I can say is that there is nothing about the sled I didn't think was an improvement over the 06 apex er that I had ridden 15000 miles. My best riding buddy who has a 07 attack gt loved it to and he's all about longer tracks. If its a good deal and you want it just buy it you deserve it dont you ? And by the way the guy with the 07 attack gt has tried every thing you can think of with the rear shock , including hy- gears very pricey set up and he found that the mega shock he purchased last season is the best he's had (very happy) If you can pay for it, do it. I'm happy I did.
