While riding my new Nytro Fx today I suddenly lost power (but the engine was still running) and noticed the engine icon flashing on my display. I shut the machine down and it started right back up. No flashing code as stated in the manual. Anyone else have this problem?

make sure to note th code it flashes when the light is on, should be a number displayed where the odo shows up.

Nytro FX stalling dies

I am having a similar problem with my 09 SE. after initial warm up it will run fine for about the first 15 minutes, after that, under heavy acceleration it will die like you hit the kill switch. Sometimes it only throws one code, however i have seen three at times. if you stay on the throttle after it dies it will relight when rpm drops below a certain level and the cycle will repeat. It is coming up with code 33, 34, and 35. I believe the codes are ignition 1, 2, and 3. I will check battery voltage/connections, however, in my case i believe the issue would more likely be within the ignition system due to the fact that the anomaly begins once the engine is heat soaked. Suggestions? Could it be as simple as spark plugs?

[I think you are describing the same issue we had with our 08. On mine, the throttle cable was actually adjusted with no play, (you need about 1/8" of slack between the thumb lever and the throttle housing). If you do not have this amount of free play in the cable, it will activate the TORS which will cut the engine to idle speed only. Hopefully its something that simple for you!

Does anyone know what code 84 means? My sled is showing this once or tweice a day.

Code 84 is the TORS. Check your manual on how to adjust your throttle cable. Did you recently adjust your handlebars or throttle assembly? That can cause the trouble code.

ORS

Sounds like when mine was acting up. It is the tors. Check the free play in the throttle cable. Mine actually was not the throttle cable, but actually the springs on the throttle bodies were never hooked up. (would not allow the throttle to come closed completly, thus tripping the TORS)

We are not sure if the sled came from Yamaha with the springs off, or if the dealer setup did not go over the sled as they are suppose to.

Anyways, that was my issue and now she runs like a raped ape.
