I bought a 2009 Nytro Rtx for my new ride this year. Its my first 4 stroke and my first Yamaha. It currently has 144 studs in a 1 1/4" ripsaw track that is all in great shape. I would say these studs are about 1/4" penetration or 1.375 length. My question is can I get away with putting in 1.60" safely and get away without hurting anything? My plan was to install some tunnel protectors but not sure if there is more precautions I should know about. Thanks in advance for any help

I just installed 144 1.325's up the center. After doing a lot of reading on the forum, I found a lot of guys are running 1.45s but some are getting damage from that. I didnt want to chance it so played it safe. Hope that helps.

You can run woody's 1.450 Megabites. They are working for a few guys on here. I am running 172 1.500 Stud boys this year. I picked up the track and studs used, and the guy who rode it before me said no issues.

I think the issue was from someone using 1.450 or 1.500 mac studs...they must be a little longer or measured differently.

Yeah that was me with the Macks, which from what I keep hearing they are longer then others. Still guys with woodies 1.45 have some rubbing going on. It's your decision and don't listen to everything you read on the internet.......good luck brother

You cant post it on the internet if it isnt true.... Right ;):D

I had 1.325 woodys that scraped the p!$$ out of my collector even with the protectors in, keep a very watchfull eye on them.
