Gaylord weekend ride
Day 1 1-21-11
209.9 miles
Stayed at the Waters Inn
I hooked up with a couple of great guys from Windsor Ontario, CA. and we had good snow and good trails for the weekend, and there was a lot of sled traffic.
We had breakfast at the Settings, and rode north and west and there was even more snow and less traffic. We ended up at the Green Lantern in Alba, and got back to the motel at 2:00am.....lol very long day, but a good time.

We had breakfast at the Gobbler, in Gaylord, and then headed out.
We found a few area's to play, there was over a foot of fresh snow. We had lunch at Larry's, and got served pretty quick , even though there were a lot of people there. Rode and played some more, and headed back to the motel, and had dinner at the Keg, Prime Rib, and it was really good. Got up Sunday morning to load out and head for home, and it was -16 degrees, and it really didn't warm up till I was almost home. Anyone going up during this week, should have great trails and no traffic.
Looking forward to the Feb. Muni Ride !!

Muni Giveaway Ride FEB. 2011
Day 1- Thursday- 158.6 Miles
We drove to the Bear Trap for breakfast, and then headed to Grand Marais, stopped to gas up, hit the Brew Pub, then headed to Seney, stopping at the HotDog Stand, on the way to Seney, got gas and then back to the hotel. Nice group, and the trails were good. Very nice first day.

Muni Giveaway Ride Feb. 2011
Day 2- Friday-- 119.2
We had breakfast at the Bear Trap, always good, nice menu, good service. Then we all headed to Big Springs. After we were there for a little while, Mark's group came in and we got a big group photo.
Then we headed to Midway store to gas everyone up, it took a while as they had 1 pump, but we had people that were really low on gas.
We headed to the Buckhorn for a pit stop and then back to the hotel. Tom brought out his Build Sled, and took a few rips around the parking lot, what a beautiful sled. Another great day!

Day 3- Saturday - 136 Miles
We went to Chatham for breakfast, then headed to Marquette, and then to Lakenenland, for the tour of the place and photo op, and some munchies and hot choclate. Then we all headed back to the hotel for the Giveaway, and bash afterward, and great time an a very late night.

SuperBowl Sunday
Day - 4- 186.2 Miles
Most of the people had to head home, and some of us stayed an watched the game, an had a nice spread put on by the hotel, and some of the members, and it was all good, and we had a good time.
A hand full of us went to the Bear Trap for breakfast, and then some of the guys, headed home, and afew of us rode for a couple of hours before heading back to the hotel. Later that afternoon, Rock, Randy, and myself went for a 2 hour ride, just before the game, and then watched the game.
Great night, very tired.

Day - 5 - Monday - 69 Miles
Should have gone home this morning, but talked myself into staying another day, tohave the trails to myself, as it turned out it was a bad choice.
Rock, myself and a few guys, went for a short ride in the morning, and one of the guys sleds broke down. They towed it to the Bear Trap, and Rocks girlfriend brought his truck and trailer, and picked it up. we headed back to the hotel.
Later that afternoon, we were going to hook up with a couple of Rocks buddies, and ride to Grand Marais, on the way there, I came into a turn WAY too fast, and tried out that crash test dummy thing, and was not crazy about the fit......LOL, the sled came out of it much better than I did, just cracked the windshield, I went flying about 20 feet, and put a real kink in my 65 year old back. Decided I'd had about all the fun I could stand for the day and drove back to the hotel, at a much slower pace. Sat in the hot tub for about an hour, which helped out quite a bit, took a few aspirin, and called it a night.
Packed up and headed home Tuesday morning, and it took 3-4 days before my back was right, getting old is way over rated.
Grand total for the trip was 690 Miles, and YTD Miles,

We stayed at Fay's in Grayling for 3 days, an one day at Ray's in Waters, moostly beecause of better snow conditions.
I rode with Chris, Matt, Rock,and Steve, mostly. One afternnon and for a little of the evening we hooked up with Hard to please, only he spells it differently......LOL, and his family and friends. There had to be about 15 of us, and we did a little riding together, and then we all went to dinner together and really had a good time, and I would really like to thank them for inviting us over to there house for food and drink, and all of us going to dinner . Lots of wonderful people on the website!!
