bpatch50 is right I bought into the mags BS in 2002 bought a mxz 700 The next year I was back drive my viper I could drive it faster in the trails it was over all faster and felt lighter....with better gas milage....that's all I have to say about that

When I said its only competitve with 07's I was strictly meaning weight as everyone has trimmed down since then. Its not what appeals to you but what appeals to the masses that influences a manufacturer. It maybe what you want however the masses do not. So far I have counted 2 fx nytros on the sleds in my riding of just over 4300 miles this winter. Thats not a very larger number when I have seen dozens of other sleds the two main brands I see out riding are skidoo and polairs. In our area its mostly new iron too. I see at least 2x the rev xp's on the trail then anything else. To me that is why I say weight is what appeals to the masses.

The Nytro's only competitive with 07's? There's nothing on the market I'd rather have for hard trail riding? The XP's are OK but are very over rated. Add in the laundry list of problems and to me, I'd much rather be on a 07 XRS than a 09 mxzx. I demo rode the new cats and hated them. Polaris does make a nice riding sled though. I've still never been on a sled that competes with their front suspension on the IQ's.

im a trail patrol officer and i meet alot of people in the week ends,we are seeing alot of yammis in this neck of the wood,i would say about 50/50 yammi,doo,then polaris and last is cat,that's my experience,we do have 4 yammi dealers in about a 50 mile circle though,but alot of them are from the south

Hey Pat I agree with you I think most of the Yamaha sleds in your area come from Elk Lake Worn N Play but maybe Im wrong. I tend to see a pattern that mostly the South guys ride yellow but the boys doing the long pulls up north tend to run blue.
We have a cottage on Long Point Lake just outside Elk Lake Im sure you know of Long Point Lodge and Gord there if your from the area.

That said, I really want them to bring the SRX name back, but I would be shocked if it was not a 4 stroke.
I think you're missing my point...If Polaris made a 1000cc stroker, it wouldn't hang with the apex and if Yamaha made a 750cc stroker it would probably compete nicely with the FST without a turbo. Point being that Yamaha is so far ahead of the game that they don't need to slap a turbo on something just to stay competitve. I'm not saying I wouldn't like a turbo out of Yamaha (although I don't see that ever happening) but it's not necessary for them to produce a hi-performance four stroke.

The Apex motored Venture is basicly pulling parts off the shelf. Its not going to happen in my lifetime it seems. To bad would be a sweet sled.

Naw, I see your point, but polaris has the means to be competitive with a 4 stroke if they want to make one to compete with Yamaha.

I'm betting on a high performance light weight two-stroke on a Nytro chassis, or something similar.

Maybe they'll introduce two new light weight high performance two stroke snow cross style sleds, one in an 600 and one in an 800.
Tuesday will either excite everyone or disappoint everyone.

That was just the engine from the vector, not the rx-1 mill. They still got that engine in the non-GT/TF venture this year. (09)

Just got home from the Muni ride and there was a source there saying he heard from a pretty reliable source (and I wont drop names) that he said "just wait until you see what they have for 2010" He tried pumping him but his lips were tight. But he did say the guy was along the lines of "your not gonna believe it"
My guess is we finally see the turbo. As it was pointed out to me buy a watercraft fan and owner of 2 turbo Yami watercrafts...it's coming.
The RX motor was in the watercraft first, the EFI Apex motor was in the watercraft first, and now the watercraft are turbo. I think he is right...we just may see a turbo to smoke everything out there by a LARGE margin. He said those watercraft are arm ripping fast. 0-60 in something like 2.6 secs on water? Thats faster than a Z06 boys and girls...

Reading everyones predictions or wishes, is the best part of new sleds being released no matter what brand. Everybody seems to have a source this time of the year.

If it was a test mule, ok, but it was made by yamaha.
