Hi all... wondering if my vector is slower than should be. I am topping out consistently at 93-95mph and I have a new belt, clean clutches. sled has 8,000 miles.

Am I where I should be for this sled??

I have the 05.. I've had it 102 on the dream meter... That's about 21mph on GPS... LaLaLa;) MM.

The new speedometers are more accurate than old (100 on my speedometer is more like 90 gps). So your readings sound reasonable to me. Plus snow conditions make a huge difference. There's not a lot of 120-130hp sleds that won't pull more than 100 stock anymore. Bigger tracks, taller seating positions, weight distribution, and tall suspensions seem to all play a role. I think only the Apex models in Yamaha's lineup are seeing real speeds over 100 on the trail.

Actually Max I'd bet the farm you are low 90's on a GPS. Speedo on those vintage Vectors are in the area of 10 mph high. I know....have I one!

Do you own a GPS for your auto? If so.take it with you in a coat pocket and see what.it tells you. Make sure you clear the top speed already logged.

My 14 LTX speedo is 5 mph fast at top end. Best i.have seen so far in perfect condition and even a bit downhill is 94.8 GPS and 99 on the speedo.

thanks guys... I know its not going to run like my warrior did at top speed, but was hoping to see 100 at some point.

I have topped mine out at 168km/hr on speedo(105mph) when I ran out of lake. spring day, 4 deg cel, and about 1/2" snow on a perfectly packed and smooth lake.
