Re: 2011 apex top speed
I am not familiar with fuel mapping so some knowledgeable people, please remark. I have a 2011 Apex XTX and it has a hard time hitting a hundred.

We met some Yamaha guys at the Sportsman Lodge in Canada and they were talking about the 2011 and newer Yamaha Apex XTX being slow. They said that those engines run lean and that they need to be fuel mapped. This will really wake them up and they will then beat the older Attaks and Apexes.snowdave said:I also have a 2011 apex xtx that will run no where near my 07 apex attack. very disappointed with the power. I have a 2011 apex se for the girlfriend and the same thing with that machine. The 07 attack will pound both 2011's in every drag race and the longer the strait the farther the 07 will pull away. I thought 2011's were suppose to be up a bit in power? has nothing to do with track tension because I have tried every suspension adj, track tension and belt tension combination possible and its all the same. the newer sleds are no match for the 2007. really sucks to have 2 2011 stones!!

Re: 2011 apex top speed
I don't think Yamaha would send out a lean turd,it may be like Mr. sled said,it could be the esup valve not opening up all the way,and you could try completely disconnecting it,make a few runs same day to see if it helped, its not like these motors are lacking in low end grunt.blade072 said:We met some Yamaha guys at the Sportsman Lodge in Canada and they were talking about the 2011 and newer Yamaha Apex XTX being slow. Re: 2011 apex top speed
For some reason the 11's are not running as good as the 12+. My 11 128 had a hard time holding 10500rpm but my 12 screams up to 10900 and is faster everywhere compared to my 11. I ran a pc5 on the 11 and it did nothing other than burn more fuel at WOT.

No engine is the same as another, some run strong some r dogs.. My 07 was a monster but my 11 was a turd...It all depends on how wornout the tooling was when they cut the ports on heads for your sled..
