Well adjusted my EXUP and it was off a little but not bad. I do wonder if the little the EXUP was out of adjustment if it robbed any power?? Anyone have experience with that? I'm gonna also mess around with my HC 2 speeds. I may try the O-P-O spring instead of the HC black and see how it does. I also have a Ulmers kit that has been in the sled for most of my riding.
MachzRobbie how tight should my track be? How much sag with the sled on a stand and no weight pulling on the track? I really would appreciate your help.

don't want to offend anyone but if you want my take on the OPO message me... I have a 2011 apex and have years of multiple tests interchanging oem and heelclickers/2 speeds. oem simply DOES NOT belong with this kit as you will be wasting your money. It took me almost a season to figure it out. I was led down the OPO road to deal with engagement and found it hurt everything else. It simply does not have the finish rate compared to the springs in the kit. Talk to Randy at supertorquer for info and he will say the same. I went through every oem spring to create a "perfect" scenario and it didn't hold up. To those that use it...great, not starting a fight but they feel the same until the speedo tells you otherwise. cant vouch on pre 2011's

I think I found my issue. I did some testing between the duallie runners and an old set of single keels. Not much differenc at top end, but was able to feel a difference in deceleration coast, and since I was running back and forth in the same feild noticed how much track spin there was. I set the transfer rod to max, gaining traction, better coasting, lighter steering and it ran 180kms on the river, skis straight in the air tho so will adjust it down a little. Everytime I make adjustments on the Apex I, m always amazed how huge of a difference they make.
Pm'd you yamahahaapex

2011 apex top speed
I also have a 2011 apex xtx that will run no where near my 07 apex attack. very disappointed with the power. I have a 2011 apex se for the girlfriend and the same thing with that machine. The 07 attack will pound both 2011's in every drag race and the longer the strait the farther the 07 will pull away. I thought 2011's were suppose to be up a bit in power? has nothing to do with track tension because I have tried every suspension adj, track tension and belt tension combination possible and its all the same. the newer sleds are no match for the 2007. really sucks to have 2 2011 stones!!

On my 2010 Apex LTX GT I went from stock primary to gr-gr-gr ( Attack set up) made quite a diff on low and big end. I was running around 114-118 now on simular condition she is up around 124-128 on the dream meter accross long lake with hard pack or bare ice conditions. I just ran 96mph on the gun in 800' radar run. I am all stock with the minor change in primary spring! I have never run against newer apexs but love toying with other brand 800's!

Lots to check
Check all wheels in suspension spin freely
Replaced wheels or bearings many times.
Drive and jack shaft bearings will easily hold up 10 mph
Conditions these sleds have a lot of gravity working against them they like hard surfaces
Best I've seen on dm 130 dusting on street

I believe that they are referring to the EXUP valve on the 2011 on up Apex.

You are correct... I have heard removing it can really wake em up... but I still need to do some research to be sure.

removing valve does it void warrenty
Hi Mr sled,i may be back on another apex and looking hard now at either a 14 or 15 apex xtx.but am worried that my boys 06 apex sleds will walk it on top, what do you think,if removing this valve works more should try it,if they have top end loss problems.MrSled said:02ViperMody44 said:mnmsnowbeast said:What is a powervalve,my apex's of old never had this powervalve, all 07's or older.MrSled said:Try taking off the power valve....and let it breath normal...

Re: removing valve does it void warrenty
I think its worth a shot to remove the cables and wire it open... and if that wakes it up then maybe a better straight thru larger mid pipe is the answer...I have heard lots of guys removed them in the bike world and made gains. It cant hurt anything to try it.
and BTW, how could it void the warranty if its out of adjustment and makes you slow as crap......

Man if doing what you suggest MR.sled would work I bet one of the aftermarket company's would make that pipe and make lots of cash off of it,because I don't think there are to many folks that bought a new eps and exup exhaust to go slower top end!
