Hi All,

Looking to either stud or put a new track on my Apex. Traction sucks with the stock track. I have read some have had luck with the 1.5" intense from camoplast. Any other suggestions? Also need to replace the skis and wondering what everyone is running. I'm using yamaha double runners currently...should I stick with them? Thanks in advance.

Ditch the tuners they are awful. I run C&As which work well with the power steering. Curve skis work well on this machine also. Just find C&As work well in all conditions. I run an iceripper with studs down the middle two per window as well which is plenty. I think if you just stud you will be fine. Make sure you add stud protectors and the solid mounts to prevent flexing and marring up the exup. A vendor on this forum sells those.

lots of guys like the 1-3/8"-1-1/2" snow cross tracks.

i personally have no problem with the ripsaw and love how it works on my sled where i ride.

I too ditched the Tuner 2's on my 2015 Ape, could not get them to work for me, pushed like crazy. Went back to the single keel 2011 EPS style ski, and have previously used both Aggressive Snowtrackers and Qualipieces Cobrahead 8" single carbide on my 2011 skis. Snowtrackers are the real deal no doubt. Currently running the Cobraheads and they perform well for my riding.
As far as tracks, I found the Ripsaw 2 to be a big improvement compared to the old style Ripsaw, but without traction enhancement (studs) this sled easily spins snow vs hook-up with the Ripsaw tracks.
After a hairy ride on icy trails last season, I'm going with an Ice Attak XT this year.
Cheers.
