Working on the front seat brace and battery bracket next.

Made some progress on the battery bracket. Unfortunately it took most of the day.

Took me awhile to come up with a simple way to hold to battery. I wanted to keep weight to minimum, but I also wanted a bracket that would tie my seat frame tubes together and be strong.

I'll have it welded to the seat frame Monday. I need to complete the front seat support first.

Finished welding the seat support.

Added a 5/8" .058 sleeve for the battery cables to pass through.

I had to prop the chassis up so I could weld the bottoms of three seat joints before installing the battery tray. Wednesday I'll be getting the super short back cap for my torch, it was a royal PIA fitting the torch inside the seat frame and the welds show it.

Battery tray in place. Once fully welded, the tray ties all the front tubes together to act as a giant gusset.

More tomorrow.

To secure the battery I made a small oak block, set a brass threaded bushing in epoxy, then coated the outside with a couple layers of epoxy. A small 10-32 screw holds the battery place. It weighs almost nothing and is very secure.
