After this major recall they just had, it would be hard for me to consider buying the first year of an all new design from them.

Was it not the Cat Quads that were losing front tires from axles breaking and causing major injuries to people as well.

Yamaha had a recall in 2009 and in 2007 on their snowmobiles. Both on either the front suspension or the steering (fx nytro and Phazer).

Also on 2008 to 2010 Yamaha Grizzly atvs there was a recall

"Hazard: The steering column support assembly can crack and cause the rider to lose steering control, posing a risk of injury or death to riders"

Also back around 2005 70,000 Yamaha units (ATVs) recalled for steering system

"...resulting in loss of steering control, which could cause a vehicle crash with injury or death"

My point is there is pages and pages of recalls from every manufacturer, for all kinds of different reasons. I find it unnecessary and rather immature of you to start pointing out recalls on arctic cat ATVs while we're discussing snowmobiles in this snowmobile forum.

LMAO. Really, well your entitled to your opinion even if you are wrong! I was simply pointing out another recall of the same company that builds the sled we were discussing so whats the problem. Furthermore if you think bringing up recalls is immature and unnecessary why then did you bring up all the Yamaha recalls and what does that say about you. Do as I say not as I do? lol :drink: :drink: :drink: :-o

Bringing up Arctic Cat's recall on their ATV has absolutely nothing to do with this post

No need to bash arctic cat as a company, while we're talking about their snowmobiles.

Yamaha isn't perfect either, and thats the point I was making by bringing up their recalls. I was under the impression that maybe you thought yamaha has never had a recall, and you thought Cat having one was a seriously big deal.

I got my info from here, if you're curious about all the other ATV recalls
http://www.atvsafety.gov/atvrecalls.html

I beg to differ AC makes the sled we are talking about they had a recall on their sleds. I mentioned they also had a recall on their ATV lineup same manufacturer makes it relevant nuff said. I was not bashing artic cat as a compnay merely stating facts big difference if you cant see that well thats your problem. Finally like I said earlier if the recall mention was immature and unnecessary if you actually stood by your own words you would not have mentioned more recalls on the yamaha lineup. If my thought process was like yours I could say you were bashing Yamaha.

I'd rather have this color combo, vs the white. IMO if Cat was really looking to shine in the weight department, they should have left all the aluminum bare. Easier to polish than it is re-paint/powder coat.

This looks great and would be my second choice. As far as a painted tunnel and weight, I dont think youll notice. lol I have a CF7 and there is zero paint missing or worn on the tunnel so IMHO it is not a issue.

I have a lot of paint missing on my 800 etec.

A buddy has 1000 miles and 1 season on his 1200 and I cant believe the paint that missing in the foot holds. It does have teeth on it compared the CF7 but I would be pissed.

I think it's pretty sad people have make negative comments about X brand in order to feel better about there own sled.

fact is Cat appears to have hit a Home Run with this new sled. There is a reason a ton of regular posters on this site are buying CATS and not Yamaha's this year!!!

I figure that as my 2 stroke motor wears out and loses power, the paint falling off the tunnel/weight falling off, will off-set the loss of power from the motor wearing out...keeping my sled as fast as the day I bought it :drink:

I agree a person would never feel the weight difference with a painted tunnel vs non-painted. But a gallon of paint weighs a few pounds. And in this never ending battle between manufactures to have the lightest sled... a few pounds could win it.

Why is it always about the waight ? Are you racing snowcross or somthing? I ride with all the guys that have the light sleds, and on trail or off they still cant hang. I rode the light sleds and i think the only time the waight actually matters is when we are loading one in the back of the truck! And at high speeds the havier sled is much more stable. My buddys e tec 800 renagade feels all over the trail anything over 60 mph. :drink: :drink:

I'm not going to get into a big pissing match. I'll just say this, Your negative posts about the new cat have zero purpose and are unproductive. If you like your Yamaha great , that doesn't give you a reason to run down another product. Especially one you don't own and have never ridden.

So do all the laughing you want. :die

Show me these negative posts towards AC and lets not get confused with facts. Show me the post where I am running down AC!

You cant because there is none! Dont even try repost the fact that I mentioned they had a recall because that is fact. Most Artic Cats are green that is also fact is that running them down? So yea you wont piss very far if your bladder is empty. lol

No going to get in a Post battle with you on the open forum. You sent your nasty pm to me so I'll keep my comments in PM form from here on out with you.

i was just looking at specs and features on the new cats,1 thing that got me laughing is how they called there new front suspension, A.R.S, arctic race suspension, take these 3 letters and say them as a word, sounds funny to me
