Billy, I rode my F7 for 2 seasons with stock skis...put the C&As and did 2 minor suspension adjustments and it was a whole new sled...I sold it and bought the Nytro and put the skis right on it..never rode the stockers. The sled steers fine...the first season was a learning curve as I went from the awkward riding style of a firecat to the rider forward position...this season got better, did the ball joint mod this season and love this sled..My buddy rode it before the ball joint mod and said it worked great and steered as good as his XP which was perfectly set up...the skis make a big difference IMO...the bite hard, I dont gett any push on a trail unless it's really loose..and then it's just about body english. I would recommend the C&A trail Xs as they are cheap and have the same depth keel as the Razors ( which are $100 more ). Add some 7.5" shapers and you're good to go. My limiter is still at the stock position..I'm sure if I pulled it one hole this sled would be even better. The skis help but it's also a riders sled..so it likes to be man handled...saying that..I still have no issues cruising with it on any trail..Nytros are great on the big sweepers..I'd say better there than on a tight twisty trail

Shaddow - Great Great Feedback. I've made many suspension tweaks for the better and pulled the limiter in one hole. I think the skis could be the missing link. This is only my 2nd season on her and last season I only got 562 miles and that was mostly ride test, ride test, etc, etc. This is the first year I've got to really joy ride.
Wonder if I can get those skis quickly enough to enjoy the rest of the season.
Thanks again

To anyone that says they can't get a Nytro to steer, all I have to say is " OFT steering relocate". Was the last piece of the puzzle as far as I'm concerned. Granted it is something that should have been done at that factory.
Now as long as the trail is 1/2 decent, I can ride with 1 hand and enjoy the scenery! LOL Only up to 50 mph of course, then its hold on tight.

I owned one so i can say this "it sucks in the corner's. I'm a different rider on an apex or a vector. the Nytro is good for one thing BUMPS and ditch banging.
Dirk, I have both the apex and a nytro xtx, and the xtx properly set up will run circles around the apex when woods banging. I would be willing to bet $100 on it. The xtx will require more body english, but will stick to the corners where the apex will not. The nytro took a little time to set up but will reward you with great striaght line handling, jams through the big moguls way better, better milage, and damn near as fast with exhaust. I have a choice to ride one or the other, and I always go with the xtx, funnest sled I have ever owned.
X2 Agree fully

Yep, agreed...I should have mentioned that aswell...it makes the steering sweep so much better...it too is a MUST on the Nytro! It made a big difference for me aswell

scott32 said:The leak is out that there is more to come after Cats release. I strongly believe it will be the Apex motor in the Nytro chassis. There are no SE models for the flat landers or in the mountain section. If you look at the new design seat( to fit the EXUP ) for the nytros and addition of 8 tooth drivers to support the extra HP. Yamaha has done motor chassis swaps year after year. Accually, for as long as they have produced sleds. look back at the previous years models and progression. Same chassis and different motor through the ages. This is my best guess, but Sno west has confirmed, it ain't over yet. I hope you all have your doo's spring checked by this release date too, Bob Downer, Nay SAyers.Scott[
So the new cats are out now, how long are we going to wait for this new release?

That's a turbo four stroke in a rev chassis basically. I know it's 75 pounds lighter then this years. Tell me you wouldn't want a apex motor kicked back and lowered in the chassis with 75 pounds dropped off it.
How do you know this...when NO details have been released about the sled![]()
There is an article in... magazine. There Cat talking about 85 lbs. But then again we are on with how do you weight a machine... dry, service or... out in the cold snow.... Add 80 lbs on a Nytro and add 26 lbs on a cat.

What I like about the blue hairs are... Yamaha is the greatest thing ever built but... I dont know any oem who require so much mod before the same buyer are happy with it?
Buy a M8 totally fun and add SLP exhaust and a new helix and you are set... way under Yamaha prices and the sled are pure fun.
Yamaha must be the most expensive kit-snowmobile in the world.

Must say, yes IT is not the fastest machine, it doesnt corner well, the chassi feels old, jadi, jadi... But the machine is pure fun!
