Hi guys it's been a couple years since i've been here. I posted a video a few years ago of my apex smoking 800 etecs in canada on a road run.
This year they are back with new 850 etecs and I am planning a trip to Canada again. I was thinking of an airbox mod and pc3 from Ulmers which he indicated i should pick up about (3) sleds. I thought I saw a post where someone said if you change the clutch spring to a silver spring it will be better than a clutch kit, airbox and pc3. Anyone here have any info for me to address this? Also my duponts slides are at about 14 mm do they need changed?? Lastly, i have the transfer set to stock. I have tuner skis with qualipieces. Thanks

Team tiedwould be best I've gained more with that takes some fine tunning and playing but it still allows long legs and accels faster and wicked backshift

Awesome Video. According to Alllen at Ulmer Racing the PC5 and Airbox mod will Add 9HP. I would give Allen a call and he will set you up. You could change your gearing as well. 850's are quick, but not much faster. My '07 GT hung side by side with an 850 this year. I think i was going to take him also.
1. Call Ulmer for a few extra ponies & spot on clutching
2. Fresh belt
3. Lighten the load....as in your gut
4. Get real low behind that windshield. Maybe take up Yoga
5. Then post this years #*$&@-whoopin'

I am running D&D set up with PC V and thief clutch kit. Need air box mod too. With hood on can't tell. It runs great. New etecs will be fast, so need to get it right but you definitely have a good one because you smoked them pretty easy in the video. I like mine so much I won't sell it. I have sidewinder too. On Quebec superhighways I loose everyone.

update: Rode in chataqua this week with 850 etecs. no long roads there but on packed trail its within three sleds to their favor. on the flip side my nephew has an 06 apex with a clutch kit and air box and 144 studs and he pulled me by a sled or so. so idk i am looking at upgrading to a 2016 xtx 146 base model. Not sure if i will like this sled in an xtx . anyone have any experience with the new sled, top speed handling etc. as compared to my 2013 short track.
