Did some top end runs on a plowed track yesterday and thought I would post the results. Temp was 0 Celsius and we were running about 0.6 miles. Plowed track was about 0.4 miles but we would go down the lake a bit further then hit the track. Gps was used

2013 mxzx 800 - 112 mph (stock)
2012 mxzx 800 - 110 mph (boyesen reeds and mbrp can)
2001 srx 700 - 115 mph
2013 apex - 118 mph (stock only 300 Km's on it)

The rpms on the apex seem low. When you hammer the throttle it goes to 9500 and then climbs to 10,400. Not complaining with the mph I got, but my 2010 was best at 10,800. Will the rpms pick up when I get more miles on the machine??

did you happen to see what your speedo was reading just wanted to know how much it's off from GPS

It was reading 192 kph. Thats 119.3 mph so pretty darn close. I was surprised just as much as most of you. Did it multiple times to make sure. I was expecting around 114 but the thing just kept pulling. I think if a longer track was plowed it would be even better then 118 mph. Very happy with this result

thanks newtron i had my 2011 118 on speedo good to know

What is your rpm at top end? Did your rpms increase after break in?

I only got 850 kms on it my rpm was 10400 hopefully it'll go up a little more

That is moving on a new machine. Wait till the miles pile on!

What are you running for a track and traction products for the 118 MPH? Iceripper on there?

I'm curious what kind of carbides as well.. I'm assuming stock skis.

Stock track with trail studs I would guess. I've seen 119.2MPH on my GPS and totally stock other than studs. Your 1200 must run 120+??

Stock track with just trail studs. You could say it was a real fast track but as you can see with the other sleds that ran, their speeds were quite average. The track could have been a little better. It had a curve in it so you would hold your mph until you got around the corner. Will try it again this weekend and see if I can setup a longer straighter track.

I have the dual tuner skis with 4" carbide inside and out
