I bought a new 13 vector last year and I notice a lot of track noice between 30-40 mph. I had it to two dealers and they claim there is nothing wrong. Is this a normal condition with these sleds? How many studs would you recommend, I just trail ride it only. Would the new Damper kit help, it also has a slight vibration at times in the handle bars.

Yes normal... and I dont think the Damper is going to help the track drone...

I firmly believe the track noise is from the suspension wheels running over the fiberglass rods molded into the track. My buddies 1200 Ski-Doo has the same noise on his sled at certain speeds. Also has that three cylinder cadence clutch noise at idle.

Is it the LTX or standard skid?
Can't say I have ever noticed any excessive noise, and I do run my track on the loose side compared to others or what the manual recommends. Maybe your's is too tight??

I agree with you Irv . I run my track at almost 2" natural sag and with a forth wheel kit. Yamaha recommends too tight a track at 22 pounds. My track is a 121". I also use ear plugs so all I hear is that beautiful 3 cyl. motor as faint as it is.

I had a similar experience one weekend on my 13 vector. Had vibration in bars and footwell. Turned out I had a bad belt. Try a brand new belt and see if it makes any difference.

These sleds are so quiet with the four strokes and the rear exiting exhaust, that you hear other noises that you wouldn't normally hear if you were riding a 2 stroke. Then, your brain starts diagnostic mode trying to figure out if something is wrong or was it like that before or not. So now, I just go out and enjoy the ride as these sleds are mostly bullet proof. Of course, you still need to do your comprehensive maintenance yearly.

Again, yes, totally normal. It's noticeable on 4-strokes because the exhaust makes a totally difference note (obviously)

ALL sleds have "track noise", it's just a 2-smoke's exhaust resonance/sounds is right about the same frequency as track noise/howl. Therefore, you don't hear the track, you hear the exhaust note.
