Or is it gonna be the same Cat, only with a longer track? Is this really it?
Or a replacement for the apex?
Seems to me you could retro the new buggy to a long track with pretty much a rail/track/tunnel extention any time, as the parts already exist.
On the new sled next year, Chris Reid, the head of marketing for Yami Canada, had the most interesting comments around the Viper, where it fits, and Yamaha sleds in general. Doesn't sound to me like they are exiting the business and some new sleds will continue to come from Japan. This sled is a stop-gap to keep dealers in the business of selling iron while they retool.
Next year? Who knows, and I hope you are right on the mountian sled, but clearly another one will probably show up.
Hey Dime...with the new muffler on the Viper being inside the cab, you gotta believe they left room for a turbo...bet ya MCX has a kit by next septermber.

That is guaranteed!
Maximumsled has a great series of under the skin photos. I love the under seat battery/gas tank arrangement. Very slick. I also like the return to front exhaust with no pesky donuts. I see it has a large front radiator. I would like to know about the exchangers under the sled???? Also - the gauges show oil pressure, temp, elivation and other new items. Hope they make an Apex replacement for me next year! I would buy this sled now if it had the 4-banger.

I would think the turbo would fit in place of that suitcase sized muffler. Thats what they do on the XP's. It would be right next to the oil tank too.
I have often thought this is where turbos should be mounted on the rear exhaust engines; the exhaust routing being the problem. If the stock exhaust is upto the pressure, I see this turbocharging this sled working out rather well.

I would expect to see cat drop their 1100 na for this Nytro engine cat version for their 2014 lineup. Anything I have read indicates that cat owner wish the 1100na had a little more under the hood. This Nytro motor would fix that.

I really do want to like it but for me it will come down to the little things that we have all gotten used to when we refer to yamahas fit and finish, how the panels fit, the feel of the switches, does the starter sound like your kicking around a box of rocks, I'm really trying hard to keep any open mind until I get my hands on one in Minneapolis tommorow, here's hoping!

People have rode it..........its called the Procross 1100 NA. Haven't you seen it on the cover of all the magazines and all over the net?????? Why, because its a turd and if you think adding 10 hp is going to make it the best sled ever than good for you.

I really hope we can retrofit the tuners onto those spindles because if I buy one those cat head ski loops will be off before it leaves the showroom floor.

If the starter sounds like kicking a box of rocks that is 100% Yamaha.
