If you guys can't corner your nytro you have it set up wrong. I corner BETTER than any doo, etec or otherwise, that I've ever run against. I'll take on any Rev platform in the woods, period. Set it up right and get good skis and the 4-stroke weight up front and slight engine breaking is actually an advantage.

You must trail ride slow. I've been riding with the same group of guys for 10 plus years. the year i got my nytro my buddy Tim said dude did you forget how to ride? You are taking these corners so slow. I said dude its this sled. The next day I road my wifes vector ltx gt and not one of the guys in the group except the Mad Russian could keep up. The Nytro is the worst handling sled ever built bar non end of story.

Yep... Well said Jason...

The Nytro has an excellent powerplant as stated before... but handling??? Go look at all the other websites, dootalk, hard core , and others and see all the people that have left Yamaha for something else.. It was not because of their motors or drivetrain, it was because of how they handled.. Maybe you are some suspension guru that can figure out this chassis, but a lot of other smart people have tried and failed...

Make the Vector 160hp, flip the motor around and get rid of the rear exit exhaust, so you can lower the motor back into the chassis and drop it to 500lbs and you wont keep any in inventory...

This is my first year on a new Nytro XTX and I don't see all the handling issues that some talk about. Other then adjusting the pre-load spring for my weight and clicking up the rear shock a couple settings I am running a stock set up. Since mine is a '12 I did change to the new Tuner skis right away with a 4" carbide inside and a standard bar outside and run the skis with recommended toe-out. I heard all the horror stories about not being able to take corners above 20 MPH without terrible ski-lift and how nosey the sled was in a straight line at high speed and you know I was worried and scared I made a mistake. None of that was the case. The sled tracks straight and confident right up to 90 MPH. I can zip right around corners without hardly any ski lift and there is very little push in corners for a 144" track. Yes if I want to go a little faster I have to use my body a bit in corners, but it seems to respond well to the driver input.

I'm not doubting there are sleds with a lower cog and lighter engines in front that will out handle the Nytro. I do 85% of my riding in the Black Hills and we have pretty tight trails in some areas and lots of weekend traffic. What that means is I don't go like a wild man around corners anyhow. I've seen too many collisions by people who thought they need to try and take a blind corner at 70 and I'm usually putting around them ready to be Mr. Defensive driver at any given second. So anyhow at average trail speeds I am very happy with out my Nytro handles. Yamaha actually did a pretty good job trying to deal with the heavy engine and still make a sporty feeling sled out of the Nytro.

I honestly believe the overall chassis is sound, however they never seemed to take it the extra step. I honestly believe if they would make a Gen. 2 FX chassis with the race front end, a slightly longer front wheel base and lower the engine a tad the sled would be top notch in the handling department.

There was a post on here about the new model being an electric utility sled, I think that might be pretty close to it, if you read Chris Reid's post there is a lot of reference to electricity all the way down to Stevie Ray Vaughan who played what ? Yep, the electric guitar. Hopefully there is more than one new model coming out. He also said the Press Had a deer in the headlight reaction, yep, more electricity reference. And as the other poster had said that could be why the intro is in downtown Mpls. (green and clean) Just a thought.

I'd put the chances of that at about .0001%

The yama-cat stuff wont go away...had another normally reliable source ...tell me something similar....yet different....this time on the cat side...cat will have
a DI two stroke...to be assembled in Minnesota ..but built by Yamaha...and that there may well be some sorta trade between yam and cat in the works, that would benefit Yamaha ....I don't know guys....this yama -cat stuff is not going away.

I don't have an issue with tech sharing, however I do have an issue with an Arctic Cat rebadged as a Yamaha. I'm sure there are others that feel the same way.
