2014 Viper rtx se
Wait until the Cat release. I bet yamaha couldn't release the full line until cat does. Bet there is at least 1, probably 2 new Yamaha/cat collaborations. 1 to compete with the Doo ACE , and 1 new hyper high power sled.

I've seen this post before after a disappointing release. When you look at the lineup it's pretty clear with the apex still there and the growth of the viper lineup this is it

"Dreamer....you're nothing but a dreamer!"

well the release may suck, but for those of you that have 2014 viper, the red and blue chrome windshields are a nice touch.

I know this probably should've been posted in a new post, but I just have one question.

Since my pockets aren't deep enough for a brand new Yamaha sled, whats the best sled( I still want a Yamaha) for upstate New York resident. My friends that go to places like Old Forge, Lake Placid, Red Fields and all the trails in that area. Also Letchworth State Park. How good is the Yamaha Vector for these places?

Apex or Venture. Groomed trail sleds.

Real ripper. I think a nytro is your best bet. You can get into some beat up trails in some of those places. If everything was like old forge you would be fine with a vector or apex but if u ever hit up tughill region your gonna regret the choice

Cat has expanded the use of the Yamaha 1049cc triple with a new Pantera touring model, a 153" M 7000, an XF 7000 High Country and some new ZR configurations.

One thing I noticed is that the 141" 1.6" XF 7000 comes with the mountain seat, but the Viper XTX 141" 1.6" comes with the trail seat. Also the Tuner skis are Yamaha specific so they are trying to do a little more differentiation.

The Yamaha engine must be successful in the Cats or I don't think we would see expanded use. By the way, Cat doesn't have any new engines for next year. The 1100 NA has been pretty much phased out other then work sleds and one ZR LXR, but the 1100T, 800, 500, and 570 fan Suzuki engines remain.

The 2015 cat 5000 LXR with the 1100 NA is $2400 cheaper than the 2014 version and lists at $9999 cdn. It's been a long time, if ever, that a 120 hp 4-stroke listed at under 10 grand up here.
