2016 chain case leak

Just talked to my dealer again. they have been putting a mile on it a day, and waiting over night. the sled is still dripping. They are trying to figure it out.
Where is your dealer at my sled is leaking to and my buds 7000 cat almost has no oil left in it. I don't no if I can trust my dealer to do this job. The parts guy is just learning his name and now he has to figure out that Yamaha has two 2016 motors. His head is going to be spinning.lol

If it were me and I had a leak I couldn't find I would either use the die additive which glows with black light or using abou 5psi pressurize chaincase through the breather and start spraying soap solution on it. My bet is gasket or some casting seam in gasket sealing surface.

Agreed, but my money is on the chain adjuster bolt as you can not see a leak there with stock muffler very easy

I ordered three new exhaust gaskets a week ago and they are on back order. We have one 2016 viper one old cat 7000 and a 2015 viper. And the old 2016's are leaking.

I checked my 16 out last night. no sign of chain case leak. but i had the dealer change the gearing right away so they would have already been in there.

this is kinda disapointing they would let this off the line with leaks like this.

Talked to my dealer again. Yamaha is not aware of any issues. If guys are having the same problem we have to voice our concern to the dealers. Not too sure what to do now but sit and wait until they figure out what Yamaha is going to do.

I will find out tomorrow why my chain case is leaking when I take it off. I was at my dealer yesterday and told them about the chain case leak and I would like a new gasket for it. I would like the work done right that is why I will do it.

I understand but get your dealer to submit a warranty claim for it whether you do the work or they do since otherwise Yamaha will not know and changes wont be made. Any dealer that submits a warranty claim will get a matching number. Ask for it to prove they did it. Doing all this helps everyone else.
