You would think that since the plant is so far north and its probably one of the few major employers that the workers would do a better job. This is why more and more work is outsourced overseas. QC in Taiwan used to be crap but has exceeded the us about 15 years ago. It's actually gotten very expensive to manufacture in Taiwan and allot was moved to China. QC was crap 10 years ago but it's improving

Update, ride the sled last night and lost all of the chain oil! Called out dealer, he said bring it up and they will get it right in. Showed up at 9:00 this morning and they called at 1:00 saying it was all done. It ended up being a pinched o-ring on the case seal. Great job to my dealer getting us in and out ASAP! However, it does show some of the lack of QC at TRF.
Thats scary. If that happens to someone who does not check that kind of stuff it could be mega bad news!

oil leak
Yamacat21 said:Pulled the can out and found oil on top of the case and a loose hose clamp at the bottom of the case. We will keep an eye on it but it goes back to what suckur said, check them over good. The gasket didn't tear so we will see if it reseales. Also WARNING!!! The gasket has a metal sheet in it that is very sharp, RAZOR SHARP! Be carefull taking off your exhaust.ok here is what happened to mine the very day I picked it up from my dealer, and I was running it in there field,so it was very good timing, mine had the oil hose that gets oil from the case from pressure like a pcv reliefe hose, the one that on my procross turbo, runs over the muffler that is connected with a small piece of rubber type heater hose from an aluminum pipe, that was a two piece pipe, connected with this hose,WHY?? No one seems to know, well anyways, this rubber hose was not long enough, and only connected with a spring clamp,so you could not tighten it up real tight, and it slipped over the flare on the tube and wasa dripping on top of my very hot muffler, now this hose is not under pressure, but could of caused a fire if gone un checked,i was pissed to say the least, and so I went over to Tractor supply store next door, bought a roll of heater hose, brought it back to the dealer, had them cut a longer piece, install it on there dime, and said take pics and send this info to CAT,did they, who knows,if this is the same stuff,i would say NO... yes keep an eye on a lot of stuff,But overall my sled has been good, yes a few belts and a chain and gears, but cat fixed all this in a timly manner, but now there updates, are becoming a joke, still waiting for al my parts. happy trails.
Thanks for the headsup Yamacat. Hope the rest of your experience goes better. Glad you got your dealer involved.

Had the same "slow drip" leak on garage floor coming from the chain case ! Found the seepage coming from the chain case tensioner bolt securing/lock nut. Be sure that this "lock nut " is torqued tight after backing the tensioner bolt off 1 1/2 turns from finger tight! Its been days now and no more weeping!

Pulled trailer out of storage last week to clean it up and found a small puddle under the new '15 LTX-LE with about 300 miles on it. My first thought was that I must have hit a rock, so a loose bolt or clamp is better - but this still sux. I buy Yamaha because of the quality. I laugh that Arctic Cats look like they were built in someone's garage - terrible quality and fit/finish. I guess that's karma coming back to bite me in the arse.

WOW is all I can say about my new 2015 I bought this fall,( STXDX) before every ride I visually look things over. Today I was in the garage installing mirrors, and greasing suspension, when I noticed the chaincase site glass had no oil ! Yes it too had a drip on the snow earlier but to leak out completely whats with this stuff, only has 475 miles on her...

Well back again, just an update. Called my dealership about this leak, also found that it had no oil left in the chaincase!! Took the sled in,they said there quit a few issues with the sled, so they were going thru it and I'll be down for 2 weeks(parts), boy this has sure changed in my time.First new sled in 32 years, and only 475 miles and it's sitting in the shop!! Qaulity has gone south for sure.

Sorry SaskAttack been away for a while, yes never asked all they told me that it'll be a while! So I presume they found a bunch of issues in the sled, also have to remember it takes a week for parts to come from where ever they order them!

so I have a 2016LTX LE. I have had a chain leak since I bought it. they have fixed it twice the second time with silicone. I was in Quebec last week put 800 miles on it. she was starting to make a loose chain case noise. pulled my exhaust and proceeded to tighten my chain tensioner. it kept going. took it to a fantastic dealer in quebec. he proceeds to tell me that when I lost oil last time that I heard up all the internal parts and they turned blue. he said they should have replaced all the parts and measured both sides of the chain case cover. that there is one of the sides that is thinner than it should be. have your dealer measure and replace both covers. I have wear marks on the cap from the jack shafts rubbing. they are replacing everything. sotry this is so long winded. don'the let your ealer tell you that there is nothing wrong there is have them replace the entire chain case. I don't want to see you go threw thus same thing if you Ned anymore info let me know
