Looking to see if circuit for helmet plug ( attached to stock lead above chain case ) is together with heated seat circuit ( wired by dealer ) where is Fuse box, It doesn't SEEM either is working, seat was working before I took things apart, to do maintenance ! Heated shield was just done, what should be positive on dash plug for visor, outer edge or female , I don't want to blow fuse, what's best way to test, gonna try lead at chain case by pulling apart and using test light there ,what's best way to do test on heated seat and switch, again where is Fuse box ? Thank You Mike

Fuse box front clutch side I believe. Best to take hood off or on my 2017. I always just wire to battery have did that for 15000 miles on Vipers and never an issue. I just tape the cord where it rubs no fuses.

Wired what to battery ? Helmet dash plug or heated seat , why didn't you use male / female plug already on sled near chaincase ? ?

Yes wired right to the battery. I bought a kit for my electric shield that goes right to the battery. Did not like using the dash plug could see when riding. Have never used the plug by the chaincase. I did it the same way on my Nytro always worked fine. People say you need a fuse but never had a issue. My Dads Viper was wired from the dealer like that

Got you , but not going backwards already have thing wired just as instructions say it's a kit from Yamaha/ Artic Cat it has heat protected tape around it plug that just gets plugged in and already drilled into panel and installed dash plug, I'm looking to test it ! Thanks though !

I know some snowmobiles will not send power till a certain rpm. Maybe I will buy that kit just incase cannot be without the heated shield

I used the plug by the chain case on my 16 and it worked fine. Not sure if it's the same fuse as the seat . Fuse box is easiest to get at with the hood off. Center of helmet shield plug should be hot, outer edge is ground. You didn't happen to forget to plug the seat back in?

hope you got it working but this is the ideal solution. RoczToyz here on the site make them. One of the best features on my sled. Two helmets and two USB ports. I use one of the helmet plugs to run my GPS.

Yes and you can fish the wire through the little holes in goggle bag so it's in the bag. Love mine too!

If it wired to the plug by the chain case it on with the dash lights. so if you have dash light the fuse is good. I wired one in last year fora guy and blew the fuse . that how i know lol

I would caution against wiring ANYTHING battery direct. If you need a reason why a fuse should be in the circuit research any type of welding application.

"Arc welding involves the use of a power supply to create an electric arc between an electrode and the material intended to be welded to melt the metals at the weldingpoint. The power supply can use either direct (DC) or alternating (AC) current. The type of current used can sometimes cause problems in welding."

The "power supply" is your battery, the "arc" is what happens when the "electrode", your un-fused, wire short together with the "material to be welded", your sled. Fuses are cheap and very easy to change. The only devise not fused is the starter, for reasons we don't need to go into right now.

The center post on your connector should always be positive and the shield should ALWAYS be negative.

Its pretty simple, fuse it or weld it.

Seat is plugged in also JUST FOUND OUT, No power at stock plug near chaincase ,I unplugged heated shield dash mount, gotta hunt this fuse box down, great after I put it all together ! ! !

Just pulled hood and checked all small fuses in fuse box ALL seem good ! Pulled each one and looked at them, What about small black things next to fuses about 1/2 inch by 1/2 to 3/4 of a inch are those fuses ? Can they be checked ? Is there any in line fuses anywhere ? How bout when dealers do seat do they put in any in line fuses ?
