I gave a 2016 xtx le with the mpi turbo. I have the updated EABC and have pulled more than a few times to full pop with boost gauge showing as much as 6. No issues at all.
Ulmer dynoed the 16 and stated it made around 5hp more stock than previous versions. It seems that there are a few cases of weaker rods and Yamaha has replaced them. I am sure there will be more but many more that are going to be fine. Hurricane pulled a few apart and was the one who noticed there are two types of rods. One steel one hardened cromoly. They also updated the jack shafts.
I would get a 16 with warranty, but that's just me. I tend to keep stuff.
