My 2016 leftover has 2 miles on it and I had same issue. First I noticed the track had been rubbing the tunnel. Took it to dealer and they aligned track. Got it home and still rubbing noise. Turns out my skid was in the upper holes front and rear, and it was hitting the drivers on any little bump.
They moved the skid to the lower front and middle rear. No charge warranty covered it. My question is should I stay in the middle rear hole or go to the lowest setting?

When I took my XTX back to the dealer with the rubbing issue, he was willing to drop the skid "per Totally Yamaha" without charge. I rode 300 miles this weekend with no rubbing noise. Turns out that this site sometimes has more knowledge about the Vipers than the dealership's service departments. Thanks everyone!

I think that's what happened with me as well! He said after doing some "internet research" he found out about the incorrect skid mount holes that were used.

I used this thread last year and moved everything down to the bottom holes myself and the noise is gone. I could definitely see where the track was rubbing the bottom of the tunnel. Same as described it was low speed snow banks I heard the issue.
