They are RICH from the factory. Hence why several aftermarket companies have designed mufflers and muffler mods without adding fuel. Gaining 10 - 20 horsepower.

I am unaware of these mufflers, which ones do not require the addition of a tune or a fuel adder? All I have seen over the course of the winter is that when you run an aftermarket muffler the a/f ratio is too lean especially on the top end.

Mine today was getting 10-12 mpg and just now has 186 miles on it,so that's tuned up,and geared up,as well. Maybe after we fix case and regear it,and get 1000-or more miles on it,the milage will improve,as all my other boosted sleds did.

Mine got better with a tune and then even better with a helix change. Now averaging into the 15mpg range. I put in about 1 1/2 gallons less than the etec 800's in our group on fill ups. That's running pretty aggressive with several wide open runs and grade running averaging 75 mph.

I have heard that same thing about tunes.
Was at dealer this week making plans for bringing sled in for updates and dealer talked about many getting 15 mpg. His tunes get that plus more!!
Hoping they find a fix for my bad mileage, these guys are pretty good, they communicate with other shops concerning the problems with these new sleds, clutches etc. I would love better mpg!! Shall find out if they can. May get it back late Saturday and try it out Sunday!!!

If this "dealer" is the one next to Home Depot I'm thinking you will be happy when they're done.I have heard that same thing about tunes.

Stage 4 clutched with OSP exhaust stock gearing. Got same mileage as a new 600 Etec and used 1 gallon less per tank as a new 800 Etec in our group.

I am not the only one online claiming this stupid mileage. I know many more see good mileage. Heck I know a guy with long track that gets upwards of 15 on trail.
Yes to stock. I have put curves and a 1.22" xt pre studded track but not until I had quite a few tankfulls through it. Still not good, could be bad flash, helix , exhaust too restrictive, etc etc. I have tried very little to improve my mileage, just secondary settings and helix shim. Did not change much with those.
I have noted all saying there's are very poky down low. Mine does not seem that way !!
Will post if dealer finds anything this Saturday whereas it is going in for the updates!!
