Aren't there already 2018's being delivered?
No, they're not even built yet. The couple out there at dealers were the pre-production demos for the rides I believe. The first 18's won't be out till probably September.

I don't know, the BRP 850's where really not bad for a 1st year and we already know of at least 10 or more improvements in clutching, bracing, motor mounts, etc... so i'm pretty sure Yamaha has already decided what the updates will be.. unless the go as fast as previous sleds and take 2-3 years to make imporvements?

Yep the 850's were great except for the ones that had their cases cut in half or the ones with kinked oil lines that seized or the ones with defective water pumps that resulted in seized engines or the incredibly hot clutches and blown belts. The issues with the SW pale in comparison. They talk about 4 stroke reliability but could you imagine how crazy we would be if the SW suffered from the engine failures the 850 had?I don't know, the BRP 850's where really not bad for a 1st year and we already know of at least 10 or more improvements in clutching, bracing, motor mounts, etc... so i'm pretty sure Yamaha has already decided what the updates will be.. unless the go as fast as previous sleds and take 2-3 years to make imporvements?

How many ?Like maybe 10 When 1/2 of the sidewinders had clutch issues ,skis that are junk, wrong routed vaccume hoses,No accessories ,No parts ,.Atleast BRP was there to help those that had issues .When you ask Yamaha about an issue they say they know nothing .Now days it seems anything you buy has issues no matter what it is .O ya,chain case leaks on sw also .Yep the 850's were great except for the ones that had their cases cut in half or the ones with kinked oil lines that seized or the ones with defective water pumps that resulted in seized engines or the incredibly hot clutches and blown belts. Not to hijack the thread, but the upgrade I posted previously came from a dealer in regards to a western sled he sold that had a few problems and corporate's response to it. But your post Joe reminded me that we had a few failures and I was curious as I haven't been on here much if there has been any feedback on the root cause or the final analysis of what all was destroyed and truly how many, and stock or tuned?Yep the 850's were great except for the ones that had their cases cut in half or the ones with kinked oil lines that seized or the ones with defective water pumps that resulted in seized engines or the incredibly hot clutches and blown belts. Yeah other than a few belts the 850s ran well last season of the ones I rode with.

Lots wrong with that ad! Says its a LTX-SE 50th....Yamaha doesn't offer the 50th in a SE model. The sled pictured looks like a RTX-LE.

Looks like someone is either selling their snow check or it's dealer advertising for a cpl extra they may have ordered

Yes they all have issues Ken but to claim 4 stroke reliability and then have engine failures. What makes a 4 stroke more reliable than a 2 stroke? The chain case? The rear suspension? The clutches? Nope. It's the engine. The 850 hasn't proved anything as far as engine reliability and in this last crappy Winter any engine failure no matter how many is not 4 stroke reliability. Maybe the 850 will be more reliable than the 800 E tech? I know of many many 800 E tech owners past and present who have seized their engines for various reasons. So making a more reliable 2 stroke should be very easy for BRP. How many 850 guys left their clutches stock? Did you? Most of the guys on DT who claimed how awesome their sleds were made changes all season long so what's different with the SW? My SW was trouble free for 1600 miles and my belt still looks new. That doesn't change the fact that I will be having my clutch rollers replaced with updated ones and if they come out with better springs and such I will get those too. My hoses were fine but the ones that were wrong goes back to assembly. How about the kinked oil lines on the 850? How did those get past the inspectors at the factory? I guess the factory workers at Cat aren't the only ones who need to improve. Doo has lots of updates for 2018 but is that a good thing? The chassis needs bracing? They have a new belt? New motor mounts? new water pump? Sounds to me like the 850 wasn't really ready for production in 17. They probably should have done more testing and waited to release it in 18.How many ?Like maybe 10 When 1/2 of the sidewinders had clutch issues ,skis that are junk, wrong routed vaccume hoses,No accessories ,No parts ,.Atleast BRP was there to help those that had issues .When you ask Yamaha about an issue they say they know nothing .Now days it seems anything you buy has issues no matter what it is .O ya,chain case leaks on sw also .

The 850 in my group had an engine failure at 850 miles or so. Turned out to be the bolts in the rod backed out of the crank and grenaded the crank badly and one cylinder. Doo was awesome and sent a crated motor and was back up running the next weekend. Gotta give it to them for being so fast. However, reliability of this new engine will be tested when they are getting 20,000 km or more and still look like new inside like the Yamis and suzis. When they get thatand not just a few the vast majority, I will be the first to say congrats!! They have a long way to go yet. Till then I will take laps on my SW with a big smile on my face.

Joe,you need to spend more time out riding .I put over 4200 on my 850 around 2200 on my sw ,and maybe 6-700 on the 800 .that beats talking s--t about 2stks on ty .Yes they all have issues Ken but to claim 4 stroke reliability and then have engine failures. This is not a ski poo forum. If we wanted updates on engine failures we would buy brp.
This is totally YAMAHA. I thought we grew up from ski poo.
The things I complain about with my winder are nothing like brp issues.
Suck, squeeze,bang, blow.
The poos just blow.
