2019s

Everyone knows the clutches are different. The question was about a different STEERING post setup.
You're the one that brought up shocks and "new tech". Mr. Sled asked a question to you and I just reiterated difference. Sorry, I blew up. Lol

They mentioned on the video that the gearing was changed to 24/50 i believe? Correct me if i'm wrong on that one, that said, the helix change wouldn't be a big surprise.

I was just pointing out that Cat seems to be shorting the whole Yamaha line this year in many small ways.
If I was making only 1 Viper why not have the new skins, updated controls and best shock package?

It may be that Cat is upset the Sidewinder sold way better than the 9000 series because the clutching was so much better.

Given the fact that the SRX didn't even get the front iQR shocks only the back ones,
the Viper has old skins while the ZR7000 has new ones
and the new Alpha skid is Cat only

There is no way Cat would put any new or better technology on the Yamaha line
What is iqR shocks? from Yamaha features
FOX® ZERO IQS SHOCK PACKAGE
The new FOX® E5 Intelligent Quick Shift (iQS) suspension can be adjusted on the fly using a left hand mounted switch on the bars. Compression damping is offered in three very noticable steps from soft to firm. Once activated the SCU (suspension control unit), located on the shock body, alters the oil flow within all applicable shocks in less than one second allowing the rider to dial in suspension feel to the running conditions. The shock setting is clearly displayed in the left side digital guage once the selection is made. Rebound damping is preset, remaining constant to control kick-back and 'packing' in the rough, regardless of the iQS compression selection.

These are also on the front shocks....

I am still curious to know about the Steering Post question......

Sorry IQS not IQR

If you read the chassis specs on the SRX is specifies front shocks as Fox® 1.5 Zero™ QS3R Kashima

Did you get that from the american site? the canadian spec's list Fox ® 1.5 ZeroTM iQS® w/SRX Dual Rate Springs...Most likely an error on the american web page

Wish I had the funds.....
Instead of sitting here on ty I would be at my dealer checking off the appropriate boxes & ordering the SRX......

I love the updates yamyam & cat did.

Does it look like the plastic by the knees is glossy not matte?

It sure does in that pic, but will it be for real? Hard to say. Id lean toward NO.

I did notice the front lower nose(red) on most models in the vids looks painted too(not matte)

That red gloss lower nose might look nice on my 50th! ;)

A local dealer here says he has reliable info from yam that there will be 2 new sleds from Japan for 2020. New chassis. All Yamaha. I think your first theory makes most sense Dan. Here hoping.
Blue/green looks terrible imo, and $20,499cdn for an SRX is bananas. SO, an ‘18 at 0% financing seems to make most sense... which is what Yamaha is hoping for I believe!
I’m torn on what to do now that the insurance company owns my wrecked sled!
I hear ya Brent....

I think if YAM goes away(sleds) its a huge loss for all sledders. I realize we are mostly cat already, but to not be able to buy a YAM badged sled is just hard to fathom.

I have heard time and time again rumours of a JAPAN YAM, but it just seems like that will never come. Would it be awesome, for sure!

I think(hope) 2020 brings them out with more models again, and what I always hoped for was that apex engine in the procross chassie.....maybe now that BRP came with 150hp 4s, cat/yam will counter with the apex engine. Sure it would not be as light but a NA 150(ish) apex engine would be so cool to have in this chassie....likely never happen tho.

Just read on snowgoer, “all sidewinders get new clutch callibrations for extended belt life” , not sure if this was posted already, be nice to know those changes
Yes its true from all I have read too...

What I would love is to get this info. Otherwise Im guessing it will be a wait and see til next fall when first sleds arrive and someone dives in. Im not sure if any specs will come before hand, with maybe some new components? Would be interesting to see ANY changes to springs, helix, and offset especially.....The fact they talked about recalibrated clutching gives me alot of hope!
