I didn't read through all this but anyone know if the skis have been updated on the SRX?

Unless I'm missing something, anyone noticed Cat hasn't released pricing yet? I'll bet the Tcat is the same as the SRX or a hundred bucks lower even though they receive factory handguards and a real windshield.

I really like my all black LTX-DX, good thing as the grey does nothing for me.
I get the clear the pipeline plan, its been done before by other manufacturers
I dont understand the Viper not getting next gen plastics
I also don't agree with SRX not having the option to delete the electric shocks ( I owned an Apex GT)
I bet the updated calibration for clutching is very minor
There that is my crystal ball view......lol

And I will remind you spring buyers the most important fact that has repeatedly ticked everyone off each year since Cat deal.

Keeping the Turbo Viper for a couple more years. Not impressed with this line up. I guess I'll have to wait for 2020...

Did your local dealer hear this from his brothers cousins daughters boyfriends sister-in-law whos husband sweeps the floors in the Yamaha plant. We have heard this story since 2013 when the cat deal became reality. It wasnt true then and its not true now. I personally cant take another year of reading about this. I happen to like what was offered, Very minimal but some cool changes non the less. Am I the only one that sees some of the changes made seem Yamaha inspired. Small throttle flipper (more like the old yamah one), Stand alone kill switch, Got rid of the trihub just to name a few. I got 3 seasons left on the viper and only time will tell But I hope to be riding a new Yamaha/yamacat in what ever form it may be. And if it happens to be a cat with a Yamaha engine so be it. My viper is by far the best sled ive ever rode or owned.A local dealer here says he has reliable info from yam that there will be 2 new sleds from Japan for 2020. New chassis. All Yamaha. I think your first theory makes most sense Dan. Here hoping.
Blue/green looks terrible imo, and $20,499cdn for an SRX is bananas. SO, an ‘18 at 0% financing seems to make most sense... which is what Yamaha is hoping for I believe!
I’m torn on what to do now that the insurance company owns my wrecked sled!

I notice on the Yamaha website for the SRX features it lists
Over-the-engine steering
The straight steering post on the SRX is configured over the engine. It connects to a single bell crank for simplicity and light weight. The design also minimizes free-play in the steering system and delivers a tight turning radius.

- and looking at the photo's of the other sidewinders they all look like they have the same steering post. Is this something special to the Yamaha's? When looking at the Arctic cat models they seem to have a different steering post.

There is nothing special about the SRX.
It's a blue ThunderCat with less options

And the Yamaha Clutches... but are you certain?

Given the fact that the SRX didn't even get the front iQR shocks only the back ones,
the Viper has old skins while the ZR7000 has new ones
and the new Alpha skid is Cat only
There is no way Cat would put any new or better technology on the Yamaha line

He said Yamaha clutches. Are you familiar with the Thundercat or Sidewinder? The SRX has Yamaha clutches. TCat is Team clutching. If you read the current description for the SRX, it basically says they'v changed it from the previous sidewinder versions, which also means it's different than the TCat. Regardless, it would be new Yamaha tech, not AC

In response to the post below:
I also was just asking a question. Since you seem to know it all, what size is the new helix? Maybe it is just a sales pitch or maybe they actually got sick of people bitching and actually addressed the problem? Guess I'm an optimist at times. I really don't know and am just curious. Really feel bad for all the people having belt and heat issues.

2018 SALES PITCH:I mentioned it earlier, including new helix and clutch components, but apparently you and I are the only ones interested in their changes to alleviate heat and belt blowing.
- YSRC High Performance Clutch System
The YSRC primary and roller secondary clutches were specifically designed for durable, cool operation. They harness and transfer the massive torque produced by the Genesis Turbo, efficiently to the track while minimizing drive belt wear. The primary shifts out aggressively to use all the power on tap while the roller secondary is quick to back-shift and provides additional ratio through its oversize sheaves to keep accelerating long after the others have signed off.

Hmmmm......4 different words one being Helix. Yawn

Everyone knows the clutches are different. The question was about a different STEERING post setup.
