2020 Pics...

Just do a search here, this has been talked about alot since 2017.

Yeah the 137 have terrible transfer, guys removing block altogether as I tried, still not enough....with 129 it transfers like a DOO rmotion, and therefore hooks....totally diff sled. I can hook up WAY better with 129 due to transfer, then 137 that wont transfer. But it looks like I will be stuck with 137 only if I buy new.

The only 137 that do transfer well have a ton of sharp studs to get it to hook, trail studs wont do it.

I also hated my 2012 128"....rode like a brick.

sorry dan totally disagree
I had a 2017 sidewinder 129 , I now have a srx 137 , the 137 transfer as good as my 129 , I also thought the 137 would not transfer after reading all the negative post , but now after owing one and putting over 2000miles on it and racing other 129 side by side , the 137 works for me , like I have said the new lower setup is a great handling and transfer by far works

I k ow the spindles are different but doesn’t the previous year btx model have the same a arms with the adjustable/removable upper tie rod as the 2020 sleds ?

Dan, the way i see it is we've worked on these things to the point where i feel like a pit crew changing tires and gassing up. if you decide to trade, all of your go fast parts will transfer over and all the other mods will be super easy the second time around. Don't be too quick to turn your head on a 137". I went to 192 megabite 1.57" this season and i now hook and transfer to the point i'm having to drill holes in the straps to suck it up more and next i'm putting the blocks back in her. It'll do 44mph in 60ft on the trail in snow. If that's not hooking then i want to ride what is! I will fully agree with the totally lame color schemes, but that's why they make wraps! I am not disappointed at all with what Yam has done this year considering we can get the tether new geometry up front and push button start, hell if i had a couple nickles to rub together i'd be all over that!

Dan have you ridden a long long track? 144+? Just my $0.02 I had the 121 ZX2 suspension in my apex, it would stand the sled straight up in the air, transfer was no issue. I went to a 151 (only size extensions available at the time for zx2, i would have went 144) and DEAR GOD the amount of difference it made on both my SC and TC 280+ hp apexs was incredible, my shoulders ache! It would lift the skis maybe 3-4' and although never measured it had to cut my accel times considerably. It made the sled so much more fun, I didn't realize how much I was spinning as a shortie. My new BTX 153x1.75 same thing Accel is insane but with only 1-2' of ski lift. I run no studs in the long tracks (I hated the thought of this but once I tried it I was sold! I had over 300+ in my 121" track). It does push some in the corners but its not horrible, steers great with brakes. I can still out ride anyone on a shorty. I'm 40 in shape and not scared of speed and this long track doesn't slow me down, if anything I'm faster on a corner exit when it hooks and doesn't spin! Try to ride one if you haven't. (141/153)
Yeah but those all transfer cause they have UNCOUPLED skids.....I want a coupled skid with transfer. This has been talked about for 3 yrs here, guys who have not read alot here may not know it but its been a huge issue for 137 owners not getting good transfer.

Most of us REMOVED our blocks entirely and still would just spin.....129 totally amazing transfer, many guys sold their 137s and bought 129s in 2018. Its all here if you search. Even special spring mounts made to help.

You are now talking apples to oranges though.

The SRX has a lowered suspension, and springs with more sag initially, and so the SRX and TCATs for 19 will and should transfer much better then any LE 137. I have heard the SRX/TCAT use the torsions from a 129''.

Better ask how much out the door....I almost bought a 7000 from them last year, until the "real" price comes out. Went with 0% and the Viper, and it was cheaper.
Talked to them last month....

$17,275cad TAX AND ALL INCLUDED for a 2019 9000RR. Not too shabby still considering MSRP is $20,295 or so.

I do believe the MT front suspension of previous years have similar Upper A arms to the new '20s. I think the taller spindle is the big diff....and for trails sleds all this is new for '20.

Articles I read of test riders say it carves better, less push and flatter....heck I think the current front end works amazing so i guess its even better. I wonder if effort is same, and if they fixed the swaybar links to have more space so they dont rub the panels.

I hear ya brother....Nice thing second time around is knowing exactly the setup i want, what to buy, and what works, and what to fix or mod. LOL.

Im abit unique, not many guys ride these big turbos in tight trails, I love this sled when Im in other areas with big wide open trails, but locally I need something with snap, to lift the nose off knolls and moguls, I have mine working like a 2s corner to corner and its incredible. The 137 I had in 17 was exact opposite, it would fall flat on its face when I tried to ride it playful, it was a horrible tune and why I now run Hurricane tunes, but it also was the lack of transfer no matter what I tried. I will never load up a track with studs to get transfer, Im a trail rider that needs NO PUSH and a looser rear end, so I like my current stud setup and may even run less studs(2 per bar) next time round.

Im pretty sure I can now make the 137 work better, utilizing 129" torsions along with my transfer rod mod I have now. And then it will all be a mute point. Its nothing to due with track length for me, its more about the differences between the two skids layout, and spring selection and where the scissors are connected.

I have a feeling the 129RTX may be back the following year, but who knows for sure. I would like to try a 137 to see if I can make it as playful, I know the tune has a ton to do with it and will get me at least half way there with the snappy early spool tune.

no, I'm talking the past vs the future , maybe u need to put all the bad behind u, and look into future progression . SRX

Did you read my post to you? Not sure you understand.

The srx is not meant for rough trail riding. Its lowered and will bottom easier. I currently have my full height suspension with much better LE shocks, set to #3 clicker, and that is how hard Im riding the big bumps. I dont need less suspension, I need more if anything.

Dan

I too suffer from tight twisty trails where i ride. I know i could probly get a shorty around the corner with a little more ease, but i'll pass on the squirrely, for the feel of the 137 planted when i leave home for the big sweepers. We all have our go to set ups and it's hard as hell to break away from them and even more so as we approach old f#ck status!
